UCLA's Italian Dept?

<p>I was looking at UCLA’s MA program in Italian and it’s the first one I seen that actually looks appealing. I was also considering their Romance Languages/Linguistics MA, but I am not sure if they will be accepting applications when I apply. </p>

<p>Anyway, does anyone know about the quality of their Italian department? Also, I’ve never been to the W. Coast. Is the UCLA area in a safe part of LA? Is it easy to find affordable housing nearby? Also, is it easy to get around without a car there?</p>

<p>Hmmn… I can’t answer about the department. Anyways, it’s waaay safer than USC and is in an upscale neighborhood. As far as housing goes, good luck.</p>
