I received an email from UCM yesterday saying that now will offer me admission and blah blah blah. Is UCM an good school? Is it possible to transfer from UCM to another UC after two years?

Where do you live? Check them out on April 13 at bobcat day

Don’t go to a school with the intention of transferring out. You will never fully commit to it. Go to a community college and then transfer to the school of your dreams

UCM is an okay school I think. I think the UC that is most similar to it is UCDavis. It’s still finding out it’s strengths and such, since it’s only been open for eight years.

Like crizello says, don’t go to it with the intention of transferring out. Also, I think it’s hard to transfer to a UC when you’re already attending one unless it’s for graduate school.

If I wanted to transfer to a “better” UC, I would go to community college and get into their TAG program or whatever.

It is not harder to go UC-UC. Instead, CCC students have priority. If you stats are strong enough as a UC-UC applicant, your odds will be just as good.

However, I agree that you shouldn’t attend a UC with the sole intention of transferring out. With that attitude, you probably wont be happy there. Attend UCM only if you would be happy to graduate from there. Why? If you transfer application is not accepted to another UC, what will you do?

Unless your goal is to experience college frosh/soph years at a 4-yr school, you’re better off attending CCC to help save money, and to potentially increase your chances to another UC via with the TAG/TAP programs
