Does anyone know where we can find student placements after graduation. My son is going to school of Engg and wanted to see how they are in helping students get jobs etc.
Accepted into Storrs
Animal Science
IS
GPA: 3.37 (unweighted)
SAT: 920 (super scored)
ACT: 17
(UCONN was my first choice)
@HSinLI - Here is a link to UConn’s post-graduate career stats. This appears to be school-wide. Not sure if Engineering has its own stats. https://career.uconn.edu/post-graduate-statistics/
My son graduated from the mechanical engineering program last spring and had a job lined up before graduation. He indicated that his group of friends all had jobs or were moving on to grad-school.
Thanks @tommc1
Is Uconn still sending out acceptances I still haven’t heard anything
Visited the Rutgers Honor College Showcase, visiting U Conn Engg Sunday, so far looks like U Conn is ahead of the pact. Son isn’t a fan of Rutgers campus at all.
In-state daughter accepted to Engineering. 1470 SAT, 3.6 GPA. Merit scholarship $7.5K/yr.
Has anyone paid the deposit. We did another engg tour today. I think he is going to go here, even though he didn’t get honors college, he still felt right here over udel, stony or Rutgers. I’ll let him sleep on it.
@Pasquale09 I called them last week and they said they’re reviewing applications on a “space available basis”. I asked if there is less of a chance of getting accepted if they’re close to capacity, but all they told me is that they are reviewing applications holistically and are reviewing them as if there is unlimited space. You’ll receive your decision before or on March 15th (: I’m waiting as well and it’s so stressful haha
just try and stop me mods
baby benny is back
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
And I did.
And now you’re gone.
Did you have to apply to the honors college to get into it? My daughter got a 18k scholarship but no honors. Her stat was 1430 and 3.9 weighted and 4.6 weighted.
No, honors wasn’t contingent upon applying specifically for it. However, there was a Dec 1 deadline if you wished to be considered.
Has anyone gotten any grants yet (need not merit)? Wondering if we just aren’t getting any need aid, or if UConn just hasn’t posted it yet. My daughter has a merit scholarship, but we I was expecting some need aid, with an EFC of less than $10K.
@lankfordmath We are in the same boat. Our financial aid award contains the merit scholarship, loans and work study, but no grants. As a result, the net cost of UConn is about 4-5k higher than the other schools on my D’s short list. Unfortunately, we will probably eliminate it.
@lankfordmath - Login to the Student Admin page where decisions were posted. Under the Financial Aid section there should be a link titled “Financial Aid Shopping Sheet.” This will indicate whether you received any aid beyond loans. Like jdcollegedad, our daughter was offered a merit award and loans but that was what we expected. You would probably need to contact to the Financial Aid office to determine whether all of their grants have been distributed.
Did anyone apply Special Program in Pharmacy? If so, have you received a decision letter?
Does anyone have this on their application “Information on your application is currently unavailable. Please check back after the next business day for updates to your application status.”
I’m startin to lose hope
@Pasquale09 student admin is down until monday
