Hi I was accepted to UCR for the fall of 2010 and I plan on majoring in bio-engineering. I recently found out that the program was not yet accredited yet and isn’t going to be until 2012. Although I would be accredited if the program was accredited in 2012 even though my graduation would be 2014, I want to go to a school with a more established program. Is there a way I can transfer to UCI after my first year at UCR?

Probably not, Best way is 60 Units -> Jr. Transfer. But hey, maybe pulling 60 units the first year will work.

I was also accepted at UCR for fall 210, but I canceled the SIR and is now going to a CC. My biggest mistake now is thinking “an education is an education.” I hope you don’t make the same mistake as I did, as I assumed you want to go to UCI because of its prestige. Correct me if I’m wrong.

humm. I think the “education is an education” thing depends on the person. Both my father and my uncle went to a CC and preferred it over where they transferred to

uncle went UCI(failing hardcore) ->> CC ->>UCI
father went CC-> CP SLO

I can’t complain too much about my CC experience, most of my profs were OK.

I’m pretty sure bio-engineering is accredited by ABET Program.
