I have been having a hard time deciding what to chose for my college path. I am an incoming freshman to UCR (business but switched to bio major during orientation) , this was not my first choice school. I am committed to 3 schools (weird). I am committed to Pepperdine University as a pre-business major for spring semester which starts in January, but will probably not attend due to the price. I am also currently attending community college (as a trial) to see if I will enjoy it. I went to UCR orientation and HATED IT so much that I came home crying. I hated the environment, the weather and I did not click in with anyone. I was wondering if I should stay in community college if I want to transfer but I know that community colleges aim towards UC’s rather than privates. Should I go to UCR and try transferring to University of San Francisco (which I was previously offered admission but my parents did not let me go) or should I go to a community college and transfer after a few years. Also is it possible to transfer after a few quarters/semesters if it is a private? Thanks!
For each private school, you need to check on its policies for transfer admission. Try their web sites.
However, if your parents veto schools that you like now, it is likely that they will veto the same schools for the same reasons later if you try to transfer to them.
