I got accepted into some out of state privtse schools Cal States and a few UCs. After year long campus touring , I have narrowed my list of prospective schools to just 2 schools
University of California - Riverside. UCR
California Lutheran University CLU
Biology is my intended major with the goal of attending medical school
Having a hard time deciding which college,
UCR
Pros:,a bigger school, lots of research opportunities, better ranking , diverse student community and of course most important UC education
Cons: most classes are lecture style- with 300-400 students in each class.
Lesser opportunity to get know your professors, difficult to get recommendations later for graduate school as the professors may not even know you due the huge class size. Old and dingy dorms. Campus not so well maintained .
Difficulty in getting classes/ may take more than 4 years to graduate
CLU
Small class size 17:1
Excellent scholarship packet
Closer to home
Clean and beautiful campus and dorms
Safer campus and surrounding cities
High graduation rate. Graduation in fours guaranteed
Cons:
Not a very diverse campus
Not much research opportunities
School relatively unknown
