For UC’s are the statistics for GPA released on the University of California websites the weighted capped or uncapped GPA? If it is the uncapped GPA, could someone please provide me with statistics for UCLA, UCSD, and UC Davis for its accepted students’ capped GPA?

The GPA reported by the UCs is derived in the same way as the one used to detemine if you qualify for admission to the UCs: (a) you use 10th and 11th grades only in a-g courses; (b) plus and minus grades are not used, e.g., a B- or B+ simply becomes a B in a semester course; (c) you use a 4 scale, i.e., A=4, B=3, C=2 in a semester course; (d) for your sophomore and junior semester courses add up the totsl points, e.g., 20 semester courses with A’s equals 80, plus 8 semester courses with B’s equals 24, for a total of 104; (c) now add 1 point per semester course that was honors or AP (unless you are out of state in which case APs count but not honors courses) but you can add no more than 8 points and no more than 4 of those can be from sophomore year; thus, continuing the example, if 16 of those 20 A’s were honors and AP courses, then you get to add only 8 pints maximum not 16, making your total 112; (d) now divide the total by the total number of semester courses in sophomore and junior year – in the examle you would divide 112 by 28, giving you a UC GPA of exactly 4.0.
You can find the reported average GPA’s for each of the campuses here (click on each campus on the right): http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/profiles/ Those figures are for last year’s admitted class; the figures for freshman 2015 will be out In August or September.
