UCSB chances?

Moving this to here because I would get more feedback...

I heard that UCSB has a great chemical engineering program for students. Is that true?

Anyways, UC GPA: 4.00
Unweighted GPA (10-11): 3.64
Uncapped GPA (10-11): 4.18
SAT Score: 2010 (690 CR, 660 M+W)
Subject Tests for Chem./U.S. History is around 700
Rank: 34/~550

What are my chances of getting into the engineering school? I'm planning on taking the math 2 SAT test on December. Will my chances be higher if I got an 800 on it?

Btw, I'll have passed 8 ap tests by graduation.

I have 210 hours of volunteer work, tennis 3 years, and 3 clubs (treasurer in one).

Yeah, I think you have a pretty good chance...and you're a CA resident?

Yes, I am a california resident.

Very good chance

Can anyone confirm if the chem. engineering program is good at the schooll?

Bump? Still needing chances.

If u can get an 800 on SAT Math II, your chances would improve greatly.

I'd say you're pretty much in, 800 on Math 2 or not.

Fairly good chance. I don't think SAT II matters very much. All those tests are quite elementary, but then again, so are the reasoning SATs.

chance me back?

I already chanced you ^^^^

Chem Engineering at UCSB is one of the best in the nation. It's ranked number 2.

Thanks for the help. Still wanting more responses though. Is it ranked number two of the UC schools or in the world?

Yes, it's a very strong problem. It's pariculary hard to get into so most have higher than SBs average stats. A higher math score and a high mathII would help your chances a lot.

I would say even without the 800 on it, your chances are very high, as your GPA is pretty much overkill for that school ~ your class rank helps a lot, too.

Isn't the UC GPA like a 4.04 for SB though?

These will be much more helpful than any posts, actual data from 2 schools ahowing what it took to get in last year, but keep in mind it's for the full range of major, ChemE is among the hardest:

Thanks for the links.

Still looking for more chances though.

Bumping this up.

bumping this please

I think you have a great chance at UCSB, even if your GPA is down by .04. I think you will make it in, good luck!
