i think the top 15% only , its honoring top applicants
Got informed deliver for uscb chancellor invite (SoCal)
Did anyone from the DC area receive an invite or is that too far from the NY OOS reception?
D20 got her invite today in the mail. We’ll probably be attending the Costa Mesa reception. Exciting couple of days (yesterday was CSULB admit)!
Our son got the Chancellor invite.
I am glad to hear that it likely means that he has been admitted…
Does it imply any scholarships?
He is not eligible for need based scholarship. Hoping to get some merit based scholarship.
He just got the national merit finalist certificate this week. Does that help with any UCSB scholarship?
We are in Northern Cal.

Just for anyone who was looking out for chancellor’s and tried the RSVP thing but didn’t get a QR code I couldn’t get one last week but got the invite today in the mail and now it works so it could be worthwhile to check again (i’m in socal)
@ASlyer The invite is traditionally sent to the top 15%. Some receive honors (no money but priority registration, housing and other perks), some receive Regents ($6,000/yr x 4 yrs + perks) and some don’t receive either. If he receives Regents, he should receive a second letter/envelope notifying him of that within the next few days. As far as I know, none of the UCs do anything for NMF.
My DD has not received Chancellor’s invite letter yet but she was able to RSVP the invitation yesterday for confirmation in OC (Costa Mesa). She has a couple of friends in her school just like her as of last night. They were not able to RSVP until yesterday. Anyone else in SoCal who still have not received the invite letter but was able to RSVP?
I think that means we did not get the invite if it says site under construction. Sad!
We RSVP’d Thurs, but just received our letter today. It’ll come!
Originally posted in the wrong discussion by @alyssarjonesss: Does anyone know if someone can change their major from anthropology to pre biology at UCSB? Would it be difficult or is it just a matter of paperwork?
@alyssarjonesss: Below is what you need to do to change into the Pre-Biology major.
** Non-biology majors switching to the biology major:
First Year (Freshman) students - may declare the pre-biology major after successful completion of chemistry 1A and 1B (+ labs if possible)
Pre-Biology majors may declare the full major at the end of the second year provided that they have completed MCDB 1A,1B, EEMB 2, 3 (2.0 gpa required), MCDB 1AL, EEMB 3L and either MCDB 1BL or EEMB 2L (2.0 gpa required), Chem 1ABC and two other preparatory courses (2.0 gpa required). Please see the Pre-Biology major requirement sheet for more detailed information.
At the time of petition for full major, you must have a 2.0 or higher grade point average in all courses attempted toward the major within preparatory and within upper division. Also grades earned must meet the grade prerequisites for the full major.
We finally received the invite letter today. It was post marked 2/14 so it took 6 days to get to OC! Now my DD got UCI Campus wide honors and UCSB chanceller’s invite.
@DMVmama - Yes, OOS received invitation earlier this week. We live in Baltimore.
Just heard that some people are receiving the regent packets in NorCal today
I just received Regents!! It came in a big white envelope today, with a large blue folder inside that had a certificate and a letter saying I was a regent!
@bruh420 congrats!! What did it look like and how was it delivered?
S20 got Regents today in SoCal.
Congratulations @bruh420 and @CasualHamm. We also received the big white envelope with the Regents Scholar award certificate in norCal today. Exciting!
