@ allen I hope so…they really shoudn’t leave OOS students last, so not fair! Oh and Congrats btw! Ur so lucky to be done with this part atleast. Are you waiting on any other schools?

Thank you! btw, i checked mine at 6:00am this morning, and was still pending. 8:30-9:30am site was not available for maintenance, etc. At 10:20am I checked again and that’s when I got accepted.

@nicolles, I will wait for one more week see how other schools go.
But I will choose UCSB probably.
Are you a OOS student?

It’s midnight. I’m checking…

Pending…

yeah…out of state and international to top it off…SO LAME!!! I get last pick always! But atleast I know CCS will take me, so that’s half the application right there. :)

… pending…

aka

we don’t want to admit you to our university… we are sorry… thanks for the $60

^^^I have a feeling you might be right bro.

@lakertime HAHAHA d amn that sucks.

major lulz @ lakertime… starting to feel like that!

hahah … I don’t understand why they do rejections last? Maybe so we don’t have time to write appeals to them…

I didnt know they do rejections last :(

O well I don’t really know either… but thats what everyone tells me… the longer your admission is pending the more likely that they rejected you. BUT that may not be true so don’t listen to me. I’m just being extremely negative.

Does anybody know when UCSb announced their rejected transfer apps last year?

thats not how it works

THen how does it work?

Random bunches of apps are reviewed.

I’m sure its true that the longer it takes, the lower your odds are of getting in because I’m sure there are a lot of applicants they barely have to review that are “shoe ins” And then it takes them longer and longer to sort through everyone else. I know they don’t save rejections completely til the end because a lot of people have already been rejected, but I think they hang on to a lot of people not to be mean, but to give those people a fair chance. If they just denied a bunch of people at the begining and realized they should have been let in compared to other applicants that wouldn’t be good. I’m sure at this point they are at the comparison stage where they look at whoever is left and see who is most deserving of those applicants. They have a max ammount of students they let in, so you aren’t just evaluated on your own merit, but evaluated on how you compare to the rest of the applicant pool.

^Eh, not really. I believe it is random. If your theory was true, why then would students with 4.0s still be pending? Why would students with TAG still be pending?

I’m not arguing that its not random, because I’m sure they haven’t even looked at every applicant. However, odds are that more applications have been looked at than have been responded too, (mine for example, I talked to the counselor), so a lot of applicants are “borderline” applicants. There is something preventing the counselors from denying them, but also something preventing them from accepting them. So those will be saved til the end and evaluated, I’m assuming, against eachother to see which are best. I know for a fact that some decisions will be sent to the end, because that is the case with mine unfortunately.

Is UCSB just a party school? Is there a mellow crowd too?
