@thefuture2 ya I check all the time!
Do you guys think they’ll do another big batch tonight like they did last week?
Just saw my unofficial award letter and I only have to pay $2741 out of pocket but with work study only $271
uhhh still pending.
ACCEPTED!!! I’m so so happy!
Major: English
GPA: 3.37
Congrats to everyone else!
I tried to register for summer classes and was told to contact the departments that offer the classes I want and send them unofficial transcripts. The Office of Admissions has already received my official transcripts. I find this situation odd, and somewhat unnerving.
I just received an email from UCSB and this is what it says:
We have received your University of California Undergraduate Application for Admission and Scholarships. Thank you for your interest in our campus.
We are in the process of reviewing your application. Before we can complete our review and reach an admission decision, we need the following information from you:
Please report your Winter 2016 grades via the link below.
We must receive this information within five days of this message date, or processing of your application may be delayed or canceled.
Is this a good sign?!
I finished my math prereq during winter 2016 and received a B- and a Media studies class where I received an A-. After finishing those I have completed IGETC and all UCSB Major prereqs.
Got admitted last week !!
So excited about it! I’m an international student and currently enrolled in a CC outside of CA state.
Major: Electrical Engineering
GPA: 3.76
TAG: No
Units: Around 100
Applied: UCSD, UCLA, UCB, UCSB, CPP
Accepted: CPP , UCSB
Waiting: UCSD , UCLA, UCB
Rejected: N/A
@Rayche17 I wouldn’t worry about it too much…I got an email asking me to explain the gap in my education on the day decisions came out (march 22) replied immediately and got my acceptance the very next day.
So, I emailed the Political Science department at UCSB to ask about double majoring in impacted majors and this was part of the response:
“Sometimes, as a transfer, it can be very difficult to enroll in courses for majors outside of your own- only because they require that you wait until your second pass time to sign up. During your second pass time, however, it is possible that those courses might have gotten filled up by students who are already in the major. However- at UCSB- we only require that students complete 2 political science courses with a GPA of 2.6 or higher- and then they are free to be admitted into the major and will have the same registration as regular majors. So, this process is not incredibly difficult.”
I reached out to the political science department not simply because that is the only impacted major that I’ve been considering but also because most of the impacted department websites seem to equally vague on the subject of whether or not transfers can add their majors after transfer. I know that there are many other people on the forums who were raising similar questions so I thought that I would pass this information along. Though I am not sure what this means for people who are accepted under their alternative major. It would be best to contact the appropriate department and get a straight answer.
Personally, I was planning to add History of Public Policy if I attend UCSB, but I probably will add Political Science now so that I can focus on IR coursework. Not to mention, the name recognition. History of Public Policy is such a mouthful and I always have to explain to people what exactly it is.
@Brian15 literally I have the same stats and was rejected too
Rejected!
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.87
IGETC: Complete
Major Prep: Completed math series and most of the CS classes in assist. Basically missing all the physics classes.
Accepted: UCSC
Rejected: UCSB
Waiting, UCSD, UCB, UCI, UCD
Not surprised, considering the lack of physics! The series is listed as required on assist, but I figured–what the hell–I might as well try. Now I’m worried SD will do the same (applied for CS B.A.).
For those rejected, what was your alt major?
Accepted into alternate major, checked a few minutes ago.

First major was electrical engineering, I was originally accounting major and finished all my requisites spring 2015, but I changed my mind and decided to stay at CC one more year to major in Electrical engineering.
