But UCLA’s my top choice (UCSB isn’t even really feasible for me due to distance from my house), and I’m still not letting myself get carried away so you guys shouldn’t either. You guys don’t deserve to beat yourselves up over it, and I think you in particular will get in I remember your stats from the UCLA thread I think :o

Hey Guys,
I have a question(s). So recently I was admitted. But I haven’t heard back from the other UC campuses as of now. But I’m trying to make a decision as early as I can. Anyways,while I am deciding where to go, I sort of have a dilemma . So I really like UCSB because of the nice environment, stunning campus, attractive people, small community vibe, and the fact that it’s right next to the beach. In addition, everyone seems to have loved their experience at UCSB or many people regret not going. But on the other side, the thing I don’t like about UCSB is the fact that it’s an isolated beach town and there are no big firms nearby, econ/acct- the major I want to do, doesn’t exactly fit with my career plans compared to some of the other schools I am considering, and the fact that I can only do econ with passing Econ 10A with a B or better (which is very risky).
Also note that I’m really not there to party but instead I want to learn and gain experiences. However, I still believe having a good time in college is vital. And I honestly want to go to UCSB.
What you guys think? How should I base my college decision upon. Environment, academics, location?

Yeah I’m aware of that, the thing is I’m not worried about getting a summer internship but I do want to maybe do a thing that’s called internship credit where I can do a 10 hr/week internship and simultaneously go to school. I also want to do a lot of research with companies, I want to go to job shadows and field trips, and I want to participate in small programs during the school year. And i’m not sure If I can really do any of that at UCSB tbh
I don’t know any concrete info to give you about any of that info. Why don’t you email someone at UCSB or ask your question on reddit?

@niiima I am majoring in chemical engineering and I haven’t heard from UCSB yet. I’m still waiting for all the schools I applied to including UCR, UCSB, UCLA, UCB, and UCSD. I think I had a pretty decent GPA of 3.76 and good essays with some club activities so I didn’t think SB would take this long to reach back.
