UCSB Fall 2017 Transfer Thread

Have most people received the admissions packet? Maybe it’s because I’m OOS but I was admitted on last Tuesday and have not received anything in the mail. Mail from California should get to the Midwest within a week no?

I got rejected. Pre-econ and accounting major with 3.55 gpa. Since UCSB is not my first choice, I’m not that surprised lol. Good luck everyone!

@jaleshaiker nope

@oshpsm Did you/ will you have all pre reqs completed by this spring? And how many units will you have at the end of this spring? Thanks for the info.

I got accepted the first day with a 3.29 GPA into pre econ/acc. Thank God for TAG to protect me from my complete trash gpa

@silvermansachs I will be completed all pre reqs end of spring with 70 units and I didn’t tag any school

I wasn’t admitted for econ, I have a 3.33 gpa and I have 1 major class remaining. I was admitted to uc Santa Cruz and cal state Long Beach, Csun, sfsu though. I hope I get into Irvine though it is my top choice

@oshpsm So you’re taking calculus 2 right now? Or you’re taking calculus one right now? Because UCSB requires calc 2 for econ

@silvermansachs no I’m taking business calc now and my first choice is USC so I didn’t plan to apply UC’s until this spring. I followed UC Pathway for Business major (I need to take pre-calc and other math classes for regular calc class while USC accepts business calc) I’m gonna re-apply to UC’s and USC if I don’t get admitted to USC this year.

Have any TAG people not heard back yet? Im an economics major with a 3.81

If it helps,
Decision still pending
Pre Economics-3.81
GEs: completed spring 2017
Major prep: completed spring 2017
ECs: club treasurer, community service stuff, accounting club
TAG: yes

@oshpsm Does the business calc count? I thought they wanted a yearlong calc sequence

@chrisramin97 Are you an econ major or econ & acct?

Business calc does count for UCSB, I know a lot of people that got in with those same classes the previous year and this year

Just Econ!

@enpz45 They prefer regualr calc over bus calc but they does count bus calc

I wasn’t sure when I was looking at assist because they list it like Math 3a & 3b- Calc I & Cal II OR Math 34A & 34B-Business Calc. Pretty sweet deal to knock out those two classes in one
