pending
not going to get my hopes up until 4/2… but with my luck i’ll get my decision near the end on the 24th lolz
Mine is still pending too
tfw you’d very much like to wallow in a puddle of wine until ucb/ucla decisions come out.
THEN check for ucsb.
Hey guys, I have a few questions if anyone can help out. I got into UCSB and this is part of what they said:
Maintain at least an overall GPA of 3.0. Complete all courses indicated as “in progress” or “planned” with no
grade lower than a “C.” .
When they say “Overall GPA” they mean the entire UC transferable GPA I’ve had throughout CC? So as long as I get at least all C’s my acceptance will still stand? I am only taking two classes this semester and theres a chance I get a C in Chem 101B, plus a B in Stat so I’d have a semester GPA of 2.5. My overall GPA would still be over a 3.0.
Also, I had UCSB as my TAG which required me to maintain a 3.2 at least but my overall GPA would drop to a 3.19 in this case. But since I got accepted without TAG, this doesn’t mean they’d deny my acceptance right?
This whole post is based on my worst case scenario for this semester but if anyone can clear this up for me that’d be great. Thank You!
@ImTryingMyBest1 how did you get accepted without TAG if you Tagged?
@lovela Same! “All quiet on the Western Front” per an earlier post is so right, I’m just expecting all my decisions to come out last two weeks of april and almost all of them to be rejections, with my luck that is
I don’t know? I mean I got accepted on the portal, plus UCSB says they don’t give TAG results until we submit our final grades since our TAG agreement depends on that.
So it can’t be because of TAG right?
This is what is says on the TAG frequently asked questions link:
TAG and non-TAG applicants receive their UCSB admission decision at any point between mid-March and the
end of April. Our TAG criteria include specific requirements that must be completed by the end of the fall term
and we will not make admission decisions before we have your fall grades.
So according to this if I had gotten in through TAG then I wouldn’t even have a decision until my fall grades were submitted? Or am I misinterpreting this? I really hope now
@ImTryingMyBest1 If you successfully submitted your TAG to UCSB and you met all their conditions then you were probably accepted through TAG.
“Our TAG criteria include specific requirements that must be completed by the end of the fall term
and we will not make admission decisions before we have your fall grades”
They are referring to the FALL 2017 requirements for TAG:
Earn an overall minimum 3.20 GPA in all UC-transferable coursework by the end of fall 2017
Earn a minimum 2.0 GPA in all UC-transferable coursework in the fall 2017 term
There are more conditions but I just listed the GPA requirements as an example
If you were accepted by TAG you must maintain a gpa of 3.2 through Spring 2018. Remember our acceptances are provisional so we must fulfill the requirements that they ask of us (e.g. gpa, course grades, prerequisites,etc.). You should contact admissions as soon as possible since they will be the most helpful to you.
Thanks for the reply @kateee , I’m gonna go ahead and assume I got in through TAG. It would have been nice to not have anxiety all semester because if I get a C in Chem my GPA drops to a 3.19 but better safe then sorry.
I wish they’d be a bit more clear with stuff like this, throughout this whole process I always felt that many things were worded so ambiguously which made the whole process alot more frustrating. But maybe that’s just me
has anyone received an admission decision after March 22nd for regular decisions? or are they really going to release it by batches on April? I want to stop checking the portal if thats the case because I keep wasting time haha
@ImTryingMyBest1 It’s not just you. Furthermore, it seems like every UC has drastically different requirement for the same major, which makes no sense and makes transferring more difficult and confusing. Political Science at UCLA should have the same prerequisites as Political Science at Berkeley, or UCSD, or UCSB. Instead, every school has specific preferences for the same degree in the same University of California system.
@ImTryingMyBest1 No problem at all. Yeah, its been pretty frustrating for me as well since some aspects of the process were not clear enough for my taste. But getting accepted pretty much made up for all the frustrations I had the past few months. Anyways, good luck in your Chem class, you can do it!
ANY ART MAJORS GET THEIR LETTER? IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS GOING BY COLLEGE BC MOST PEOPLE I KNOW WERE EITHER POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJORS OR ENGINEERING.
I Tagged UCSB and still waiting!! ugh I am so anxious.
btw if we got an email from the place we tagged, and said we were eligible does that technically mean we are accepted?
^^ Like the UC portal we tagged our schools later I think November i got a message and said it was successful processed and like saying I must maintain a 3.2 and blah blah… that technically means I TAGGED? And the acceptance letters are our official? idk my counselor at school was telling me this. ugh I can’t wait any longer. does anyone know if its “Tuesday’s” they send out letters?
@studentca123 Hey, I’m a Political Science major and I TAGed and haven’t heard back. Don’t worry, we’ll find out soon.
For those of you who were admitted and still haven’t gotten financial aid, try calling the financial aid office. I called earlier today and they processed my package right then and it’s already available.
I called directly to this guy and he was actually super nice about everything.

Did anyone here get accepted with regents?
edit: nvm I think regents for UCSB is only for freshmen applicants, correct me if I’m wrong
My sister got that same email. It simply said it was processed. Did not say you qualified. The same email said TAG acceptance would come out starting in March. I think you should reread the Nov email.
