@ImTryingMyBest1 Thank you so much. I’ll do that if things start to go south so far I am doing decently. So I was worried about the worst case scenario.
Thanks again you made me feel so much better.

Any other LGBTQ transfer students? Got in last week! Davis was my number one, but I’ve changed my mind and UCSB is definitely my top choice. I’ll be there during Summer session too! Unless I miraculously get into UCLA which is a stretch.
Admitted!
GPA:3.7
Major: Communications
Tag: No
Major GPA: 3.8
Pre-reqs: Completed all
IGETC: Completed
Accepted: UCSC, UCD, UCI
Waiting: UCLA, UCB
@AGGIES17 congrats but when did you get in for davis?
I tagged to Davis so I just put it in as accepted although formal decisions haven’t come out yet. @letmein123
@AGGIES17 ok okay gotcha.
Does every waitlist person have the green checkmark in the financial aid section?
@biochembbs9 I got accepted but I was able to see the green check mark before I got accepted, which was around early March. I think it should be a good sign but I’m not sure. Does it give you a date of when you can see the unofficial financial aid award letter?
@chanel I can already see the unofficial financial aid award
@biochembbs9 that should be a good sign right??? If anything I think you can call admission to see if you’re at the top of the wait list.
How did you practically get a full ride to UCSB, if you don’t mind me asking?
@chanel really? I didn’t know that! I thought waitlists get put into groups by major. ill call tomorrow and ask thank you
@biochembbs9 I’m not 100% sure how the waitlist works for UCSB but I heard for UCLA that there’s basically a separate waitlist for each major. I would assume it’s the same for UCSB
Wouldn’t it be by major?
Lets say they waitlisted like 1,000 students total. Each program is now full (with all the new admits). Then, they will see who submits their SIRs. Let’s say not a ton of bio majors accepted their SIR to UCSB. Then, the department can see how many available spaces they now have for bio majors, and see who from their bio major waitlist will get the spots.
At least, that’s how I assume it goes, considering other schools do it that way. But who knows. If you are curious enough, call the department! They’re usually pretty open. Especially since this is SB’s first ever waitlist for transfers.
Hi guys! I’m now worried because I was accepted into UCSB as a philosophy major (college of Letters and Science). I applied as a philosophy major only because at the time I wanted to be premed. Now I have changed my mind and decided to email admissions requesting a change of major. The major I requested was environmental studies, bs which is an open major. If they don’t accept my request will they rescind my admission?
@blueem Nope! I actually called them about this exact question. You can apply to change majors as much as you would like and should it get denied you are unaffected so you can breathe easy and have a wonderful night.
Not admitted. I dont really care about ucsb. Soc major with low gpa . My top choices are ucsc and ucd. Got in ucsc just waitin on ucd.
@AyGrey Thank you!! I was just worried especially because I haven’t submitted my sir!
Got denied for Computer Engineering, whatever. not really a big choice for me lol
If anyone calls admissions about the waitlist, can you post the info you got? Thanks!
If I email a major change request to swap from Math B.A. to Mathematical Sciences B.S. do you think there will be any issues? They are both in the College of Letters and Science and are in the list of OPEN MAJORS.
