UCSB Fall 2018 Transfer Thread (Including TAG)

@TaylorD6 I’m still waiting but I only turned it in a little more than a week ago. when did you turn yours in?

@ctehin I turned it in around the same time as you then! Just curious because some people are hearing back really fast and others have been waiting over a month. Do you know if there’s a deadline we should hear back by?

@TaylorD6 I think it’s June 30. And yeah I’ve seen a wide variance in decision times too. Are you on the waitlist too?

@ctehin No I wasn’t accepted and I was told the only reason why was because I hadn’t passed Stats by my fall semester so the lady in admissions said if I took it my spring 2018 semester and passed I should be in and I passed with a B so hopefully she was right!

Appeal was accepted tonight!! So beyond happy and excited

Congrats! @TaylorD6 what time did it come out? I was wondering if they come out later than the admissions office closes which is 4

@ctehin thank you!! It came out sometime between 8:30-10:30. So surprised it happened that late in the day!

hi everyone,
I started a subreddit titled r/BigWestBasketball where we talk about news surrounding basketball in the conference. If you want to talk basketball with other fans of the big west come check it out!

did anyone put down tropicana for their housing? i heard thats where all the athletes live

No, I didn’t have the option to list tropicana. I listed El Dorado as my first choice.

Also, hi all, I’m a chemical engineering major transferring from Los Angeles City College. I won’t do a stats post, unless someone is interested. Congrats to everyone!

Is living in IV cheaper than on campus apartments??? I see rent going for 700$ but can’t you find a roommate to split that with?

@LtJuice its definitely cheaper but downsides are IV is usually kinda nasty, you have to provide your furniture, utilities prob not included,
and usually one year full lease, so you have to pay for for summers even if youre not there (or get a subleaser to cover), whereas campus apartments are nine month school year leases

for housing contracts, after you sign in with your ucsb net id/password and the system requires you to sign in with another username/password - what is this?

I got an email from my cc that my transcript was received at UCSB like almost a week ago, but it still says not received on my portal. Is there somewhere else I can check if they received it? Does it just take a while to update on the portal, or should I contact them about it?
