UCSB Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

No email but checked portal anyways, decision still pending  I haven’t heart back from any schools yet this waiting is killing me lol

still pending

A friend of mine got accepted today for applied mathematics, he tagged, and has a 3.98 gpa. He got an email from them.

I GOT ACCEPTED!!
Wow I got accepted into college I can’t believe it!!!
Major: Global Studies
GPA: 3.78 (I think? LOL)
CC Transfer
White female

If anyone else wants to know more of my stats just let me know

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! And to those who didn’t, I know this isn’t helpful but I swear to god college admissions is a total crap show. You literally cant expect ANYTHING. It makes no sense, and you really just have to have luck. When I was in high school I was essentially in the 99th percentile of students nationally, did everything someone could ever do (sports and team captains, extensive volunteer work even in other countries, had a job since I was 16, letter of recommendation from a man whose net worth is $20 million, etc) and applied to 11 schools and only got into 1.

It’s not a reflection of you and your abilities. You’re going to do amazing things at any campus you could go to. I had to learn this the hard way.

LONG POST BUT I LOVE YOU ALL! IF YOU’RE STILL WAITING, HANG IN THERE! YOU GOT THIS!!

longtime lurker here, decided to post because of this forum helped me weigh myself against other students and there aren’t many non-CCC people here.

@ortheous

Also a longtime lurker, posted just since you’re the first geography major I’ve seen on here. I’m still at decision pending, I was hoping that I just haven’t heard back because maybe geography decisions haven’t come out yet but apparently not. I thought my stats look pretty good but my essay questions might be lacking. Hopefully I’m just scaring myself for no reason

Still waiting

Anyone hear back as a CS major?

Anyone know if ucsb will hold a student reception like santa cruz is doing? Or a day to visit the campus for those admitted? I found it weird how they havent sent an email or something ( to me at least)

@TatianaF they have Gaucho Transfer Fridays 3x in May for prospective transfers. I signed up to attend 5.3.19.

anyone going to open house on the 13th??

I wish I could go but the funds aren’t in order lol. I will be able to visit this Wednesday due to a family member’s work trip (I’m gonna tag along and visit UCSB).

@Not2cool4school thank you! I’ll look into it.

Anyone going to open house and jump start this Saturday? UCSB even offered me a free hotel for Friday night but my ride just fell through and I don’t necessarily want to go alone

Has anyone gotten their welcome packages in the mail yet?

@AndrewH90 I just got in yesterday, so i’m still waiting. I was actually wondering how many days it takes to receive the package in the mail? Also does anyone know how long it takes for the financial aid package? Thanks!

@AndrewH90 I received my decision during the first wave and I received the welcome package about a week ago.

I was admitted March 31st and still haven’t received a package. I’m in the LA area.
