@vrios95 Yea I definitely like the small college town feel. I previously attended Davis and I loved that I could ride my bike anywhere. I might visit SB in May depending on how the rest of the decisions turn out. It was my dream school when I was in high school but I got rejected back then.
This is my first comment here guys. I’m also a TAG still waiting to hear back I also applied to UCI and UCSD. I currently attend cal state Long Beach, I didn’t plan to come here but I decided to attend for the spring just to get a head start on some classes I’ll need down the long run. Haven’t heard back from any campus thus far. If I’m a TAG that hasn’t heard back yet does that mean I’m basically denied ? Would like to know what you guys think. Good luck to everyone this waiting game has been painful.
It doesn’t mean your automatically denied but your TAG will not be approved. You will be considered in the general admission pool because TAG is only for CC students @RaymondAlvaradoH
@HeyItsNick will it matter that when I applied I was a CC student. I just recently came to Long Beach, I’m currently in my first semester because I didn’t want to wait a full year to attend a UC. I figured I could come here for a semester and then finish my undergrad @ a UC.
@RaymondAlvaradoH Unfortunately, you have to complete your last 30 credits prior to transfer at a CC for the admission guarantee.
But as I said earlier, this does not mean you will be denied automatically. It just means you will be considered in general admission although your admission will be more difficult because you are a CSU student now.
@MrAcceptUC2k what exactly are you asking? UCI is a really nice campus, no denying that. But it’s known for students who go home on weekends. It’s more so a commuter school since a lot of students live off campus. They do have a lot of places to go out but once again I’ll reiterate that it doesn’t have much of a college town vibe. UCI is apart of the Irvine Company if I’m not mistaken? The campus is clean and immaculate, almost cold and sterile if you know what i mean. There’s really no speck of trash anywhere
To anyone that was accepted yesterday, did you get the email to check for your financial aid letter. This is what they provided me with in the off campus housing
Unofficial Grants and Scholarships (Gift Aid)$24,560
Cal Grant $12,570
Federal Pell Grant $6,195
UCSB Scholarship $2,180
UCSB Health Ins Grant $3,615
Unofficial Work-Study Eligibility $3,000
Unofficial Student Loan Eligibility $7,000
Direct Loan Subsidized $5,500
Direct Loan Unsubsidized $1,500
I got the same aid, except 1000 less for pell grant. Anyone know if the Health Ins grant covers insurance for the year, or is it just a certain amount they give to pay for the insurance?
