Ucsb improving?

i plan on attending ucsd this fall because the tritons are badass

but i hear that santa barbara has been denying a lot of great students. denying students that get admission into sd, even.

prior to receiving admission to sd and the rest of the UC’s (albeit ucla)… i thought davis/sc/sb/riverside were joke. apparently not.

now i feel bad for those who were hoping to get into sb or sc.
i shouldnt have checked the box if i didnt plan on attending…

same goes to the geniuses out there who plan on going to CAL
that checked the UCLA box.

So after all that rambling your question is basically is SB improving?

Answer: Yes.

were you one of them? i know a lot of well qualified students who got rejected from UCLA and then some average joe got in. i also have a friend who interestingly got rejected from davis but got accepted to sd. i find their selections a bit random and i believe all the UCs are improving in one way or another.

UCSB is improving, but it has been BAUMB for a long time…

What does BAUMB stand for?

its just baumb…it used to be bomb but the word has changed to baumb (its spelt how it sounds)

^^^ uhhh…

my friend goes to ucsb and he said every one he knows drinks and smokes, alot. but he probably hasnt met the nerds.

I feel the same way. I’ve been accepted to UCSD and UCSB and I’d rather go to the school that’ll be growing in the future in terms of rankings and selectivity. Alot of my friends got into UCSD but not UCSB…

yeah…
i think that subconsciously ive already made up my mind for sd
i dont even know why im going to visit the sb and irvine campuses

anyone know why SB is becoming more selective?

that’s interesting. i don’t think it’s becoming more selective. ack! it’s all random to me. a girl at my school got rejected from all the UCs except UCSB and she has like a 2.8 GPA too.

Anecdotal evidence alert

there is always randomness in admissions, even at ucla and ucsd. i highly doubt santa barbara, as good a school as it is, is closing in on schools such as ucsd and ucla.
