I got accepted to UCSB as a pre-political science major. When I applied during Fall Quarter of 2014, I had a 3.01 and after I received a 2.99 during the Winter Quarter. I got 1 A, 2 B’s and a C in my classes. If I can pull a 3.0 during the Spring Quarter, would UCSB’s policy will still rescind my application?
What does your contract say?
“Maintain at least an overall GPA of 3.0. Complete all courses indicated as “in progress” or “planned” with no grade lower than a “C.” If you earn any grade below “C,” notify the Office of Admissions immediately. Changes in your overall GPA or your schedule may result in a change in your admission status and/or your eligibility for specific majors.”
“Submit official transcripts from all institutions that you attended to the Office of Admissions by July 1, 2015. No transcripts may indicate dismissal, probation, or other restrictions. Transcripts are considered official when they are delivered directly from the school. Late or incomplete transcripts may result in the withdrawal of your offer of admission.”
Does that mean it’s okay to get a 2.99 for that one quarter or does that one quarter still affect me?
Was your cumulative below a 2.99, or was the semester a 2.99?
I’d call/email and ask, just to be sure.
I currently have a 3.00 GPA - flat, but that one term was a 2.99.
I think you are okay, but I am just a random internet person. Call/email just to be sure.
lol dude there is no way they will rescind you for getting .02 below your average when you applied. but yeah email them anyway obviously. you must have had a good application to get in with a 3.01
I think my essays, extracurricular activities and explaining my disability helped me get accepted because my GPA is not the best. I will email them now, thanks!
