UCSB Spring Insight Q's

Some quick questions for the goings-on during Spring Inssight…

1.) Are we allowed to visit and enter the residence halls? Is there a tour for them?
2.) Are we allowed to get lunch from one of the dining halls, or do we have to go to IV to find a restruant and eat?

Your answers are much appreciated!

Styxx:

NOBODY FROM SPRING INSIGHT are allowed to visit the residence halls. The residence halls will be locked for that very reason tomorrow. In fact, we got an email about it, and this little tidbit was included in our email:

ADDED NOTE: If you know anybody/have any friends already living in the dorms in UCSB who can sneak you into the dorms for your viewing. . .then, do it. Just leave your parents behind when you make that quick tour of the residence halls.

I think you can get lunch from one of the dining halls. . .but I would not recommended–for guests, a dining common meal is $12 per person. You can get food much cheaper than that in IV and Goleta.

IMPORTANT:

Bring umbrellas and warm clothing tomorrow. The nasty weather from today might carryover to tomorrow.

Where are we suppose to meet exactly for the spring insight?

You’ll see LOTS of people.

General guidance: Just go towards Storke Tower. It’s where all the action will be at.

How about parking?!

Parking. . .parking. . .what about parking. . .

Look here: [UCSB Transportation & Parking Services](http://www.tps.ucsb.edu/)

You can always park in IV too.

Parking in IV *might be *a little better than usual for this weekend, since a sizeable number of IV residents went to Coachella. . .

Yeah, I meant where to park lol.

I also have another question; if you were to live at a dorm, lets say Manzanita Village, where would you park your car?

I know what you meant lawlking lol. The parking sites are at 12, 14, 16, 18, and 22. You can take a look at the map of the parking structures on the link below:

[UCSB Campus Interactive Map](http://www.tps.ucsb.edu/mapFlash.aspx)

If you live in Manzanita. . .there is a parking lot adjacent to the Carrillo Dining commons and in front of the San Raf lawn. So. . .you can park there. It’s near.

What a far walk, lol. How do you like you experience at SB so far?

My experience: it’s been OK.

I remember 4 years ago I asked a random student if they would show me their room at FT. She was nice enough to let me see her single and her neighbor’s double (who was asleep lol). But that wasn’t during spring insight, just a tour.

THE
HAIRY
LEMON --

You are really helpful on this thread. If you have time, could you perhaps make a post about what you like about UCSB, and what you dislike about it? I know that would really help prospective students. :)
