Hello,

I have a few questions about UCSBs admission criteria. Let me start with my situation. I have a LOT of withdrawals on my record due to financial situations. I have repeated two courses due to a lack of dropping (and responsibility). I also had two F grades in non-college transferrable classes that I forgot to drop. My overall transfer GPA for CSU is 3.28 and should be similar for the UC system, as I was originally on the IGETC path before deciding to go for Cal Poly. (I was waitlisted for Cal Poly last fall with a 3.04 and some recommended courses not completed) I have applied again, with everything complete and the higher GPA. So, this is another possibility.

I am applying for the Economics/Accounting major at UCSB, and have completed lower division economics, accounting, business calculus, business law, statistics, and all required G.E. courses. I believe the only thing I don’t have completed for the IGETC is foreign language. I noticed that the UC application is way more in depth than the CSU application. I am good at writing essays, so the personal statements should go well.

Has anyone else been accepted with a similar situation? I just don’t know how important the Withdrawals and non-college transferrable classes are for admission. Do you think I have a good chance, or should I save my application money?
