UCSC and a D-Grade in High School

Hi everybody,

I’m feeling that I’m about to fail a class and scared to death of the consequences of doing so. I understand that getting a D in a high school class, first semester of my senior year is grounds for either rejection/rescindance. I’ve completed all the requirements for getting into a CSU/UC school.

The class I’m close to failing (It’s a low C, but I’m working with the teacher to bring it up) is IB ESS, but since I’ve already passed all my a-g requirements, two years of science and have all the requirements done, what are my chances, worst case scenario, of getting into UCSC with a D in ESS. There has to be people who have done it before as I cannot be the only one. How does this affect my CSU/UC acceptances, like Humboldt for example? Yet again, I’m working to bring this C up, but I’m just worried regardless.

Any help would be great.

Academic GPA High school: (UW. 3.475) (W: 3.900) UC GPA: (UW: 3.36) (WC: 3.64)
ACT: 27

Update, I feel I’m at a low risk of failing, I currently have a 74% in the class, and my test scores are improving.

I am glad to hear that you have worked hard to improve your grade-good job!
Have you already submitted your UC/CSU applications?

congrats on improvement

Good job! Keep up the hard work
