UCSC people!!

Hi everybody, I recently got accepted into UCSC as a transfer student, and I think I’ll be attending starting fall quarter this year. I live in Santa Clara, and UCSC is the closest UC campus from my home, so mainly due to convenience issues (because I plan on driving to campus everyday), I only applied to UCSC- and got in. I wanted to ask about the general attitude of students at UCSC. Is is really relaxed? Do people take homework seriously??!! I am transferring from Cal State Hayward, and people there are just soooooo out of it! Nobody cares about doing even simple things like HW assignments, and exams are like a ‘nuisance’. People think it ‘bothersome’ to answer all the questions in exams- in a typical 2 hr exam, 50% of the classroom is vacated within 45 mins ! I hope UCSC is not like that. I think I mainly chose to transfer to a UC university to perhaps find some sanity (by my standards, I guess!!). Any responses will be appreciated,

Thanks.

right now i go to UCSC and there are a lot of people who don’t care about homework. there are the few who work to get there grades, but there’s also the people who don’t even care to go to class. the over atmosphere is pretty relaxed though. and yes, there are people who during midterms and finals just don’t care and turn their test in within the first 20 minutes. hope that helps
