@raacheeel: Jealouusssss. Just watch next year it’s gonna be some crap band I hate. ■■■.

do you HAVE to turn in HS transcripts through docufide? because i dont think i can turn in mine through docufide…

@raacheeel: you don’t have too. I mailed my HS transcript normally

thanks so much! :)

Where can we check if they’ve received the transcripts?

^ go to myapplication.ucsd website. Next to the previous schools, it says “transcript received” with a date next to it if they received the transcript.

^ Where are the “previous schools”? Do you mean those listed under “Transcripts Status”?

Yeah, mine should have gotten to the school 2 weeks ago and I don’t see them listed anywhere. Should I call or just wait longer?

Just got confirmation of my switch from ERC to Revelle. SO SO SO excited.

Anybody else trying to switch?

I paid $30 to send my AP scores more than a week ago, still have not shown up. -_-

@Anacondrea: Where did you request the switch from?

@grimes99

Got da eff outta Roosevelt. History GE’s, bleck. I’ll take math and humanities any day.

@Anacondrea: No I mean where did you go to ask for a switch? I didn’t see the option anywhere online.

@grimes99

This was in the FAQ’s.

“Q: Can I change the college I was admitted to?
A: Generally, no. Each college has a certain number of spaces for transfer students. Unlike most universities, your college is not determined by your major. This gives you a unique opportunity to meet a wider range of people. Since most of your general education requirements will have been completed by the time you arrive on campus, you can take advantage of your college’s commuter programs for transfer students.
Newly admitted transfer students may request a change of college; however, we may not be able to accommodate college changes due to capacity limitations. Submit your request with an explanation for the change to: collegechange@ad.ucsd.edu”

I sent an email with my explanation at the end of April and they got back to me yesterday, which is pretty quick for them. Which college are you trying to get out of and in to?

@Anacondrea: Thanks. I’m in Sixth, which isn’t the worst thing ever, but I wanted Muir. What reason did you put?

@grimes99

I explained that I’ve taken a lot of liberal arts courses over my years at CC and have found that I do far better in the sciences than in the arts. I stated bluntly that the GE requirements at ERC would detract from my ability to be a great student in my major. I used a Harry Potter allegory by saying that the hat placed me in Hufflepuff when I should’ve been in Ravenclaw, and made sure to still thank them for inviting me to Hogwarts.

@Anacondrea: I don’t know anything about Harry Potter, but thanks for the tip! I’ll email them shortly.

Has anyone received their admit packet? I’m still waiting for mine :/

Got mine last week, I thought it was funny they invited me to Transfer Admit Day after it occurred.

@Anacondrea: I think it was the Harry Potter that got you switched. Very nice.
