^unfortunately it’s pretty likely. UCSD releases in batches that are about 2 weeks apart… last year the last batch was late in the day on April 30th, it might be earlier than that this year but with the increase in applicants I wouldn’t expect it to be.

I just posted this in another thead, but ill post it here since i think its mre official. I just spoke with an admission representative that’s at my CC right now.
She said the next bath would be the second week of April and the last on the last day of April.
Just confirmed of what i was told on the phone… =]
Hope this helps. I will go later on to ask about the waitlist, and ill let you guys know about it.

^
Interesting, when I call the admissions office at UCSD they tell me “we cannot tell you a specific date.” It would appear that the reps they send out to CCCs are more forthcoming…

Hey guys I’m new to the site, I recently saw the thread & read through most of the posts…Congratulations to everyone who’s in so far!!

Question-I’m sure someone already asked but has anyone been admitted without tag who will be IGETC certified after spring, & if so what are your stats? I’ve talked to admissions officers on a few different occasions & the story changed with each person I spoke to. I’m a transfer so on the app I selected TAG because all I needed was math & I was trying to crash a late-start math class. The teacher wouldn’t take waitlisters due to budget cuts sooo I’m taking it this semester. I also selected IGETC on the app because I’ll be certified after this semester. One admissions officer said starting this year I won’t be disqualified for TAG because I still meet IGETC, another said that I’ll be put with general admissions. So for anyone who’s having the same problem I was told both stories Due to the TAG requirements it’s common sense that I assume they see my math this semester & put me in the regular pool. Definitely makes it an intense wait.

As most of you have heard, I was told by an admissions officer yesterday that most decisions will be out “mid-April.” She also said some of the non-taggers will wait til the end to see what kind of room they have, so that’s just why I’m curious to know if any have been admitted. Keep me posted & good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know if it is easy to switch majors after transferring? I’m admitted as a Psychology major but am actually looking to change into Cognitive Science with specialization in Neuroscience. It’s not impacted and the prereqs will only take me a semester to complete. I actually looked into all the classes I’ll need for a Cogsci B.S. and if I take 3-4 classes each semester I’ll be on track to graduate in the next 2 years without my financial aid to running out. My friend tells me it’s only a click of a button but I just want some more confirmation from others that might know. Thanks :)

I actually applied as a cogsci/neuro sci major. Iv taken all the Cogsci prereqs at UCSD through cross enrollment and they are great. Cogs1 is super easy and 10x more interesting than psychology. I have no idea if Ill get in though.

Anyways Im not sure about changing majors, my gf said its super easy, so if you can I would recommend it!

So, i did ask about the waitlist for ucsd, and she affirmed that there would be a waitlist. I asked about it, and she didnt want to tell me, but i insisted, and she basically said you would have to write a ~300 word paragraph answering what they were asking and you would have to send something if they asked for it and thats it.
She also said that if you are TAG and are approved under TAG you will be accepted and they won put any TAGs on waitlist. You will be in =]

^You’ll be accepted, just not necessarily into that major. TAG guarantees admission to the university only. I believe you’ll have priority over non-TAG bio applicants as well, but since it’s impacted, you may have to select an alternate major.

I’m not sure, but I don’t think you can be waitlisted for a particular major. You’re either admitted to the university under your major, admitted to the university as undeclared, waitlisted to the university, or denied admission to the university.

For those who havent heard yet…if you click on the housing application does it say something like “our records indicate you can not sign up for housing at this time”?

Last year, before they caught it, there were two messages and if you got one of them it meant you were in. Not sure if they did that this year or not…
