UCSD Acceptance

@victor5555

Thanks for the correction.

Unfortunately, the courses I will be missing are Electricity & Magnetism (even though I’ll have the class below it (Mechanics) and the class above it (Modern Physics) completed) and Elements of Materials Science.

It’s true that even if I don’t get in as ME, there’s a good I can get in as Structural Engineering. It’s just I really wanted to do ME :\ Not really much I can do other than wait

So I have a question to whoever can correctly answer me without assumptions. I applied to UCSD for the fall of 2011 as a human bio with a 3.5 GPA and all my igetc completed and all of my major prereqs other than ochem. Last spring when i was talking to a counselor about transferring and i asked whether or not i had to fill out any particular forms for the TAG she said no, all i had to do was to check the box on the application. Thus i put that aside from my mind and didnt fill out the tag application even though i have all the necessary course work. Does this mean i am not a TAG student, although i have all the classes? Any help appreciated.

UCSD didnt even look at the tag online apps this year. if you checked the appropriate boxes you should be a tag applicant

if you didnt fill out the TAG application form last fall, you are not considered as a TAG applicant… actually im not sure.

Um, i keep getting two different answers, redo: are you sure about that?

^i dont think thats right because they repeatedly said they werent even going to look at the online tag.

edit: i know what i know, and i just told you what i know.

You had to complete the “separate application” from the TAG website, but don’t sweat it, you are a Bio major and Bio majors are impacted. What this means is that they have a limited amount of spaces, so they will select people with higher GPAs first then they will go down the GPA ladder. Not only that but the TAG only guarantees you a space in the school but not in your major. If you did apply for an alternative major you might have chances to get in with your alternate major. I am also a Bio major. Do not feel discourage TAG doesnt really mean much for us BIO majors, its only a little boost.

Okay thanks! I appreciate it, anyone with other info greatly appreciated .

only 25 more hours!!!

25 more hours till what?

halfway through the month…

@yogi
Until ucsd releases the 2nd batch. I hope you guys are right this time! :)

No body has said that UCSD will release admissions on the 16th. Raachel only said that we are almost halfway through the month. Don’t begin speculating again please!

BlkBox has been ■■■■■■■■ all over the place so be careful of what he says!

Nobody knows when the next batch will come out.

Keep that in mind and carry on.

The 16th of April is 2 weeks before April 30th so it seems likely that the 2nd batch could be released on the 16th.

I am willing to put money on the 2nd batch being released by this saturday. I will give 1 cent via paypal for every person on here who formally says otherwise and proves me wrong. :P

lol i would to bet money that decisions will come this saturday. But am broke :stuck_out_tongue: hopefully we are not wrong. I just wish they do tell me on this batch. i will go crazy if they dont.

@ealarcon1991

Haha, yeah I will probably go crazy as well if I don’t get my admission decision in the 2nd batch!

I think this saturday too!! :):slight_smile: can’t wait!!
hopefully I get my decision!! otherwise…
i gotta wait 2 more weeks…sigh
