UCSD Acceptance

Yes, for transfers it doesn’t really matter what college you go to, but the prereqs for graduating may be an issue.

However it’s what… an extra class or two either way? Yeesh, lol.

This is true. Transfer housing is in a different section of the school, but even if you lived where the specific colleges, it wouldn’t matter. If you did IGETC, you are covered for Muir/Warren/Marshall with the exception of two writing classes (phil 27/poli sci 27 is added for warren for a total of 3 extra classes)

ERC requires three quarters of writing since IGETC doesn’t cover it. I don’t know what you have to take for sixth and Revelle, but they aren’t completely covered by IGETC.

knightmight,

Thanks! I am not sure if my TAG is actually active for UCSD. I talked to my counselor about getting a TAG, but I never signed any papers or received any emails from a UCSD rep. I did receive emails from UCD about stuff for the TAG agreement which I electronically signed. When I applied on my app, I did click that I had a TAG for UCSD.

Yea thats all you had to do for the TAG at SD, but I dont think you meet the requirements for the TAG at SD.

Yeah TAG at UCSD requires a 3.0

Fenris:

http://marshall.ucsd.edu/pdfs/GE_SHEET.pdf</a></p>

Look at the box that says Transfer Students Only and then the IGETC part.

Hey Fenris,

Aggie’s housing status changed, and he has a 2.79

Yeah, I thought so. =[ Is there still a lot of people waiting for acceptances from UCSD? It seems like the majority of the people who were accepted already received notice.

Hey guys, I also got the “May 2” message under the Housing link. I want to see this as a positive sign, but is this the exact same message people got this year right before they got accepted? I’m not trying to burst anyone’s bubbles, but this just seems like a message indicating that priority housing spots have all been handed out. Who knows?

Well, both are valid sources. I guess we’re going to have to ask a counselor. Yours does look like it may be updated since it says Jan 04. I hope what you say is true because i don’t want to take extra classes either.

knightmight: ok? When he applied he had a 3.09

Also, I just looked up the orientation site for Warren… the site is actually down, which might be the reason why people might not be able to register. They could be putting up a new site for 2010. However, I don’t know why people were able to sign up for orientation for an '09 orientation.

Either way, we’ll find out in a week or two. Housing message people always get a decision within that time frame. It has held true both both years so far.

I’m TAG. i just want my acceptance

it’s the same message.

Yea

but Fenris,

Aggie’s fall grades dropped his GPA to a 2.79. The had to see his update.

They also offered 600 students last year acceptances with GPAs from below 2.7-2.99

Futureaggie: “Yes, that is correct. I did have a 3.09 GPA at the end of summer when I applied, if that matters.”

That’s funny because the application time was november. something smells fishy bout your story

are you talking about the 600 people that got admitted in the end? those were TAG students with GPAs above 3.0

[UCSD Transfer Admit Day RSVP](http://admissions.ucsd.edu/reservations/transferadmit.aspx)

^ Transfer admit day orientation. see if you can sign up

@joeyd72 —maybe he didn’t know his grades for Fall '09 at the time of filing his application?

Which is why we had to update our Fall Grades after we applied…

My fall grades weren’t out till late December/early January. The UC update for the applications were in late January. What is fishy about the story?

Wooo my housing message changed for the first time…yawn

For Marshall transfers with IGETC, you have two upper division GE’s to complete. You must choose two upper division courses that have nothing to do with your major, and one of them must require significant writing (they have a list of these classes).

haha i think all the stress of not knowing UCSD is getting to some CC’ers, FutureAggie.

USMC, do people with IGETC need to take the two DOC courses?
