UCSD Acceptance

Haha thanks, I was looking on ERC’s specific site but I guess that was the wrong place

I just checked UCSD right now

IGETC: yes
prereqs: not even close
major: EE
gpa: 3.25

I really expected to get rejected

BUT I GOT IN!

@sleepless1 same here for EE! I have a 3.5 and am missing prereqs and was really suprised I got in. I’m at revelle college though. It’s gonna take me longer to graduate from UCSD than it would from UCI i think. I can’t decide!!!

Man, really, fenris? Well then there is some kind of big time screwup in your case. Maybe they want to know if you REALLY REALLY want it.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

^^ yeah I got into EE missing pre-reqs as well (3.84 GPA). They put me in ERC when I wanted Warren meaning it would take even longer to graduate so I doubt I’ll be going unless it gets switched.

I was rejected for Winter 2010 by UCSD, btw, because I was short two units. They would not budge or relent. They also didn’t get my decision to me until past the petition date for whatever reason. It almost totally put me off applying again.

And not once did anybody tell me that my GPA was low. This is totally a new one on me. I feel like they are making me sort of maneuver around obstacles to see how bad I want to be in, so I have to go to my former CC on Monday, get some kind of paperwork, take it to UCSD, file a petition, et cetera. Like I don’t have anything else to do…

To my EE brethren. I am just excited I got in ANYWHERE with so few of my prereqs done. Even if it takes me 3 years to graduate, I will be going to UCSD. Hope to see you guys there!

^^^ In at UCSD, randomly checked my app today (May 1 7:30) and BAM, CONGRATS!!!
EE Major 3.4 in at Marshall

Now to decide, UCI or UCSD…LA & D reject<-----their pricks anyway lol

nice of ucsd to send an email…

Politricks: The college you go to doesn’t matter. You only need to take the three quarters of MMW. If you want a general outline of the courses you need to take, go to the poli sci site for UCSD and they’ll give you a general idea of the course list you want to follow

Hey, this is the first time I been on here.

But I just found out I got rejected to UCSD. I applied as a commucation major with 3.4 GPA. The reason I think I got denied is because I applied with 36 transferable units during the application period and when I updated I was only at 40. However, I now am at 53 units and taking transferable 37 units by the end of this quarter? I battled cancer since last year which is the reason why I was behind units but I am catching up. By the time I finish this quarter up, I will fullfill all requirements that UCSD expects.

Should I appeal??

And do you guys think I have maybe a chance getting in?

Please let me know and thank you for reading.

sleepless did you TAG?

My GPA was the same and I’ll have 80 units, I got rejected but didn’t go for full IGETC.

I’m beginning to think full IGETC is required for SD.

Specifically, the only IGETC I was missing was…
Area 4 (all 9 unit/3 classes missing)
Area 5B (biology)
Area 6 (2 foreign language classes)
Area 8B

All in all, 7 classes short in IGETC. Wow, guess I should give up on SD entirely because I never plan on taking any of those.

hey i just checked today n i got ACCEPTED! woot forget goin to UCLA n Cal im goin to UCSD woot! congrats everyone who got accepted n really sorry for those who didnt…you guys who have tag should all appeal

ne ways question tho since im really worried bout my acceptance since i totally forgot to put on my app one class i took from another school… will this rescind my admission even tho its not uc-transferable or should i just not send it in?

if you have an A on that class then it shouldn’t matter. lol

^ lol no i got a C in it… does UCSD only check your UC transferrable GPA or overall GPA?

They check both. Give them a call first thing in the morning…What is your current GPA?

also was wondering do they check “ALL” admitted students all the schools they’ve been to? uc gpa 3.23 overall 3.15

mine’s still pending. Didn’t expect to take this long

Talking to UCSD Admissions right now… I’ve been on hold for like 6 mins after they looked at my app and

I said “I applied under TAG.”

Admissions: “I see that… Let me check some stuff… 3 mins later – Can i put you on
hold?”

Update 1: The officer told me that I had in fact completed TAG, but he needs to send it in to his supervisor to confirm that I did. He doesn’t know why I wasn’t admitted seeing as how, according to him, I completed TAG. Anyway, I was told I should be receiving an update within 48 hours, and if the supervisor confirms that I completed TAG, then the decision will be reversed.

For those of you who don’t know, my stats are:

3.2 GPA
67 Units
IGETC/TAG
Applied for Economics and Intl Relations: Economics as an alternate

Both aren’t impacted.

For those who have TAG and were rejected, I would suggest you call UCSD as well. I’m probably not the only TAG applicant that w as rejected by mistake.

Hello,

I just called in to admissions and the AdCon. Forwarded my application to the admissions director because she showed that I had more than 60 units, with a 3.06 GPA whilst checking the TAG and IGETC box.

IF you think they may have miscalculated the amount of your units, GPA, or other stuff, then I suggest you call in. I should be hearing back with another decision in the next couple of days.

The point here is that there is the possibility of minuscule mistakes being made on our decisions and we should look into things if we really want in!

soo…here’s what my admissions rep said

What was the cut off GPA for UC-UC applicants?
3.3 for UC-UC and 3.8 from other 4yr year universities.

I didn’t report that I have IGETC, does that matter?
No, we don’t care about any of that stuff. It’s just GPA and units. Since you’re short by .15 it’s not even worth appealing.

Me: f…u…c…k…
