UCSD: Chance Me?

Hello, I have currently begun my junior year, but here are some stats about my high school career:
Freshman Year Cumulative: 3.77
(2 honors courses)
Sophmore Year Cumulative: 3.89
(2 honors courses)

Cumulative GPA of Freshman and Sophmore Year: 3.89

Junior year I am currently taking 2 AP classes (AP English and Physics).
My GPA this year should be at least a 3.5, if not higher.

EC:
-Will have 4 years of Band by senior year
-Band Historian from sophmore to junior year (will mostly likely be historian senior year as well)
-currently International Club President (will be senior year as well)
-Will have 4 semesters of CSF (california scholarship federation) by graduation (and will get a seal on my diploma as a result)
~55 hours of community volunteer service (Kids Camp, Senior Center)
-1 year Make-A-Wish Club.
-RESET CLUB member.

I HAVE NOT YET TAKEN THE SAT/ACT.
*I will only have 2 years of foreign language, despite the recommended 3.
*I am planning to take some college classes over the summer at a local community college.
*I am planning to increase my volunteer hours.
*I am planning to start a small photography business (my passion=photography)…idk if that helps. just thought that i’d throw that out there.

MAJOR IS UNDECIDED AT THE MOMENT. my interests are among communications, film, public health, or something, not sure; something english based rather than math…

*I WISH TO MINOR IN PHOTOGRAPHY…

So far, your stats are pretty good. Aim for an SAT score of 2k+, keep your GPA as it is, and you’ll have a good shot. The UC’s weigh your GPA in a different way from your high school school. I suggest you search online for the UC GPA calculator, since I don’t remember where to find it.

You look better than me.
I had a 3.5 gpa and a 1790 sat. And the took me with open arms. I had no club presidency and such, just some generic CSF NHS and stuff, nothing fancy.

I hope I made you feel better.

You seem to be on the right track. Since you didn’t specify letter grades, I can’t really rely on your GPA to see if it’ll help you a lot to get here. BUT, your EC’s seem pretty amazing, and I understand that juggling that with academics can get pretty difficult, and universities see that too. And I didn’t have an amazing SAT (1780) and I was able to get into UCSD. but that was because my GPA and ECs were pretty loaded. So just make sure there’s a balance!!!
