[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: All I see around this thread is SAT this SAT that blah blah. I understand the importance of the SAT but when it comes to making a decision, which factor weighs more? spending hours bettering your community or scoring well on a 3 hour test. I will not let a number define me, which is why I spent my time volunteering and being involve school. I know if I studied I was more than capable getting a very high score, but why waste my time for a number. My respect goes out to all those who score high on their SAT/ACT and keep up the great work!

@Zanelol Nope, UCI is the easiest of those three.

Was anyone able to see a financial aid estimate for UCSD?

@USMC0311 I was. Got about the same amount I expected.

@Lilliana330 I thought it UCSB was easier because the average GPA is lower (Guess I was wrong).

@Zanelol UCSB has slightly higher SATs/ACTs…

UCSB: <a href=“UCSB: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores, GPA”>http://collegeapps.about.com/od/collegeprofiles/p/UCSB.htm</a></p>

UCI: <a href=“UC Irvine: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores, GPA”>http://collegeapps.about.com/od/collegeprofiles/p/UC-Irvine.htm</a></p>

UCI is still a great school, though. Congrats on your acceptance there. Focus on enjoying it & the other colleges will be a distant memory. Best of luck!

@Lilliana330 Thanks, btw my assumptions were made from the GPAs shown at these webpages: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/campuses/irvine/freshman-profile/</a> and http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/campuses/santa-barbara/freshman-profile/index.html</a></p>

@Zanelol A GPA difference of .02 doesn’t mean anything, though. The SAT differences, on the other hand, are sharper, as well as the difference in acceptance rates.

Hey guys
Did any of you receive invitations to apply to the honors program at muir college ?

Did you all receive some sort of email with your decision? I only found out from the portal, I have not gotten any email and I’m not sure if I was supposed to because I know UC Davis sent one out hours after the portal notification.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: its all about the swag

Disappointed by the two rather arrogant posts from young men accepted set forth immediately above. Both hae rather modest SAT scores compared to hundreds rejected and they seem to think they are special for beating the odds. One believes he was accepted because of commitment to community service while the other, with a very modest set of “3’s” on 4 AP tests, thinks its because he is charming. It will take some doing, but one hopes these youngsters find some maturity at college wherever they decide to matriculate. With any luck, my D won’t run into them at UCSD.

@dodgersmom, I’ve been cracking up at your post for 20 minutes

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: ii really don’t know…

@wormandcandy I think he was just joking/being sarcastic with the comment.

@jessyayala1 How selfish of you to keep all the swag to yourself! Many of us could’ve used a scholarship as well, you know? :P

@wormandcandy No offense, people like you need to learn to take a joke and stop calling others arrogant. That’s what you call needing to be mature; you know my family makes only $20,000 a year and I go to one of the lowest ranked schools in San Diego? Although the SAT is considered an aptitude test, it’s one that anybody can study for and get a high score if they have the time and money for it. The average SAT score at my high school is only around 1150/2400, I had terrible teachers, and do not have the money to be paying for SAT Prep classes nor study materials. I LITERALLY worked my ass off all my life to get where I am today and I hope not to run into your daughter if she is just as bad and judging as you. Which is one of the reasons why I would probably not attend an Ivy League, did you know I received a likely letter from Cornell, UPenn, and Princeton? Also, I am a Gates Millennium Scholar Finalist. I’m sorry, I guess NOW I am being arrogant…

@Lillian330 Haha I’m sorry! I would share my swag if I could but too poor D: by the way, what major and college did you get accepted to?? :D
