UCSD Class of 2018 Official Decisions Thread

I swear, UCSD must have gravitated towards GPA this year because I thought I was stronger than some of my other classmates with fewer ECs, lower SAT/ACT scores, and weaker essays, but their GPAs were bloated by 7 or 8 AP classes so their GPAs are like 4.5 4.6 and they got in over me.

Accepted into Muir under Physiology and Neuroscience Major
4.0 UW, 4.26 UC GPA
ACT:30 and 10 on writing
Rank: 1/90
Essays: really creative
Good ECs and leadership roles
Took 10 out of 11 possible AP’s offered at my school
In State
Also have been accepted to UCD, waiting for LA and Cal!

I was accepted to UCSD but recieved a supplement request from SD. We are waiting for LA kn friday, and although my SD acceptance makes me happy, I am worried I wont get in because I did not receive a supplement request from LA. LA is my top choice, only applied to LA SD and SB not Cal. Also my stats are 2110 SAT and 3.86 UW gpa 4.17 UC gpa and I applied for international relations at all schoola. I know my gpa is lower than LAs average but SAT is higher. Any thoughts from everyone?

@Korean101 “Hey guys, on the provisional admissions contract, when it states that you must maintain a 3.0 UC GPA in a-g courses, does that not include the courses in the subjects that I have already fulfilled? For example, I am taking linear algebra right now but since I satisfied my three/four years math requirement long ago, does that mean the grade I get in the linear algebra course won’t be factored into my senior year UC GPA in a-g courses? (And I know that the g requirement are the courses in subject areas that were already fulfilled but I have fulfilled the g requirement long ago as well, so I was wondering if the linear algebra course may roll into the g course category).”

I don’t know if this has been answered yet, but I’m pretty sure you need to maintain a 3.0 in all classes, even linear algebra. The fact that you are taking linear alg is part of the reason you were admitted.

My son is not accepted by UCSD…uuuuaw…UCSD is the wall in front of him…before he rejected by UCSD…He was a great STAR…why ? he accepted by CAL POLY SLO, UCSB,UCD, Univ of washington…But but…in front of UCSD…he collapsed,
