any OOS applicants get the email?

Bio major here in state letter C

OOS, got the acceptance call about a week ago, but no email yet

The housing trick probably doesn’t work, but for those who got the email what does it say for you?

I believe in the housing trick for the acceptance part lol

@brentboy Check a few pages back for pasted emails & the screenshot.

@jaaay96 I guess I am rejected. I am also political science major, haven’t received any emails… ;(

@Brentboy
My D got the email and she has the admitted message on Housing: come back in March or something.

Well, I’m hoping the housing trick is legit

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know that this email is not only for top applicants. During the short period of time when decisions were up yesterday, I was able to check my portal and I was admitted with regents. However, I have NOT received an email from SD. So please don’t worry if you haven’t received that email. :)

@collegesplz it’s supposed to say the late-march message if we get admitted supposedly right?

@lilliana330 I think he was asking for the people who got the email to check their housing tab

@Brentboy yep!!

The invite people posted clearly says it is only for select students and not all admitted students. So don’t panic and assume you were rejected just because you didn’t get the invitation.

@reesee1231 That’s unfortunate for your friend; what major did she apply to? I can tell you they did not reject all their top applicants, as my daughter is ranked 5/553 students, 4.0 UW, 4.33 CSU capped, 4.65 W, 33 ACT (35 on Math and Science), 500+ hours community service, 2 sport athlete, leadership (not that they look at the ECs) and she WAS admitted. I’m sure your friend will end up at whichever fabulous school is meant for her!

@collegesplz @brentboy Ohh, totally misread that lol

There are thousands of applicants for UCSD and I highly doubt they would be able to accommodate all accepted students. I think the email only went to about ~150-200 students since “invitations to participate in the Overnight Program will be sent out to select students by March 16, 2014,” according to http://spaces.ucsd.edu/?page_id=2050.

Sorry guys, I thought it was an admission notification in general. Thought it’d be helpful for those who hadn’t seen theirs on the website.

@sdcali Thanks for the clarification!

@callgirl14 My friend applied for engineering. She got over a 2100 on her SAT. 800 on the SAT Math II and Chem. She got into UCSD (received the phone call) and into USC for engineering. She’s in varsity swim and student gov’t. Her top choice is Berkeley. Also, her school is college prep and highly competitive.

On the bright side, UCI sent out emails about application status changes.
