UCSD Class of 2018 Official Decisions Thread

@darkfox32 he posted a screenshot of his rejection…

I missed a few calls from people whose numbers weren’t saved. They were from my area code so it probably wasn’t UCSD.

And I checked housing and got the supposed acceptance message. Wishing for the best. No official decision yet.

Thanks for the support, everyone!

same here man

Son got regents from UCI, UCSB, UCD, and UCSC, and was invited to apply for regents from UCLA. So far we have heard absolute nothing from UCSD. His intended major is CS for all UC’s. He also has not received the so called “likely letter” from UCLA yet. We are getting really nervous here.

well it was nice meeting you all…as far as I can tell I have been rejected from UCSD. Maybe I’ll meet you guys at the UCLA thread :slight_smile: Good luck to everyone else still waiting! And congrats to the people who have been accepted!

Joey’s says:
“Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated.”

Mine says:
“The housing application will become available in late-March. Please check back. If you would like to learn more about housing at UCSD, please use the links in the Housing menu above.”

Do we know if that means anything?

@project58: Although we are not 100% sure, Joey’s message is the rejection message (he has already confirmed that he was rejected so he doesn’t disobey the housing theory) while yours is the supposed accepted message.

@projext58,

"For future reference everyone

Housing trick (not proven legitimate yet)

Supposed rejection message “Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact the Housing Office at 858-534-4010 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 4pm”

Supposed acceptance message “The housing application will become available in late-March. Please check back. If you would like to learn more about housing at UCSD, please use the links in the Housing menu above.”

Default message that means nothing “The address above is what we currently have as your Summer Contact Information. This address is the address we use if we mail you housing contract information.”"

That was on page 109.

hey guys, i’m just wondering if the housing trick works, is it only works with the message u got yesterday before
the portal crashed? coz when i logged in yesterday, it’s crashed already, thus have no idea what my housing trick is. but now (after portal reset), i have the supposed rejection one. I’m just curious about it:)

I am curious as to which housing message wait listed applicants get…

Oh my god. People need to stop with Housing Messages. You will get your decision like by tomorrow.

Ahhhh no you’re right I’m just so nervous! Okay I’m not signing in again until noon tomorrow.

Alongside the usual “check back later” message, notice that at the bottom, it now says “Our systems are experiencing intermittent system issues. We will update applicants via email as MyApplication becomes available.”

Can someone who was waitlisted yesterday tell us what info comes up on their portal (for housing, TB test, etc.)?

@Korean101 I do not have that :(

it says option is not available because of your application status

@launica I was waitlisted. I can access the TB link, and housing said “your admission status does not…”. Although today after several refreshes my housing would change to the summer address message. Housing application is NOT a reliable source to determine your admission, nor is the TB test.

i agree. one of my friends was able to see her decision during one of the short open periods and her housing status was the rejection message (“your admission status does not allow”) but she was accepted and her housing status changed afterwards to the check back later message. Don’t give up hope, and just wait for the decision to arrive.

For the people that got the “option is not available message,” post your info. I got that message: (I have a 4.26 w GPA 4.0 uw 4.4 uc gpa 28 act). If everyone posts this info. we can surely determine if the housing trick works or not (because if you have high stats and still get the message it probably does not show anything.
