UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

yea i think everyone has it

My friend didn’t have an email…

@selectyour REALLY? Are you 100% sure??

Stop with the stupid housing and email speculation. It’s already been proven to not be an indicator of anything.

Yes, I just checked with him. He did not have the email. He also only activated his portal yesterday, though.

@jjckhoi thank you so much! congratulations to you as well! I hope that I can be just as fortunate as you!

I have a theory… I know everyone may be tired of hearing all these crazy theories but I’ve been doing research. Applicants have 3 calendar days to submit their SIR (statement of intent to register) so maybe what admissions is doing is waiting until Friday’s pool submits or doesn’t submit so they know how many more applicants to send letters to. Sound logical maybe? No one come at me because it’s just food for thought! Keep yalls heads up :)))

I didn’t have an email when people first discovered it. I was accepted yesterday, and I still don’t have an email there, so it’s not relevant to acceptance.

@julesrules1234 applicants have until May first to submit their SIR. Three days would be an insanely short time frame. Where did you find that number?

@10s4life nope, we both went to the same spot. I had it and he didn’t. Was a little awkward… probably because he just activated the portal

@julesrules1234 Hi! I was just wondering what you meant by 3 calendar days to submit their SIR? I was accepted to other schools but they said I had until May 1st to make a decision :o Do I have to give them an answer right now? :-/

Uh, no. That’s completely wrong. Applicants have until May 1st to submit their SIR.

That’s what I understood prior to reading this:
https://students.ucsd.edu/_my_application/_files/admitfaqnfrswait.pdf#page2

Q: How will I find out if I get an offer of admission?
A: If an offer of admission is made, we’ll send you an email reminding you to check your status online. You’ll then have three calendar days from the offer date to respond, so be sure to check regularly. To accept UC San Diego’s offer of admission, you would then follow the steps on MyApplication.

@julesrules1234 that’s only for those on the wait list.

Q: How long will I have to accept the offer of admission?
A: Three calendar days. Once we notify you through MyApplication, pay attention to the deadline to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Statement of Legal Residence (SLR). This deadline will be a fixed date; no extensions will be granted.

@julesrules1234 that’s about an acceptance after being waitlisted- not a general acceptance.

Oh my bad. Lol everyone coming at me now… Y’all need to chill

@julesrules1234 on top of that it says “ADMISSION FROM THE WAITLIST – WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?”

that 3-day rule only applies for people who were waitlisted and later accepted.

Or you can just stop posting wrong information. Just a thought.
