UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

@gonewiththeair my portal is still down

@gonewiththeair yep its back to normal now-- check back on March 30 @-)

If you’re on mobile, try private browsing. That might work.

@and1kingbro if you’re on mobile it doesn’t always reset! Try incognito mode or another browser.

Portal still down for me

This is so sad and upsetting. I’ve been keeping up with these posts since yesterday and this is so unfair of them! I was waitlisted by Davis yesterday but at least they were consistent and timely! UCSD isn’t looking very appealing right now.

@thejappster hmm… And you’re on private/incognito browsing?

Nope! haha i have everything autosaved on my chrome so i dont know my password and I’m too lazy to find out what is it :stuck_out_tongue:

Based on everything I read if you didn’t get accepted yet then it’s probably a waitlist or rejection. Way too many people have been accepted and they even sent emails, calls, and letters to them. Coincidentally, no one has been rejected or wait listed yet. I don’t like being a pessimist but there’s no reason in being hopeful just to have that hope crushed. I still haven’t heard from UCSD but I’ve already come to terms with not being admitted. And it honestly is cruel on their part to only notify those who have been accepted.

@gonewiththeair True, so if you want me to back up the numbers I will. In my high school, we had 65 students apply this year, and so far 18 said they were accepted an no one said they were rejected. I’m sure that we have not heard from all accepted students, so I expect the 18 number to rise. In addition comparing the accepted from last year to this year on CC for the first 24 hours, there are more accepted this year than last year. True, we may have more CC users this year, but I am inclined to believe that the vast majority of acceptances for Fall 2016 has been released. Sure, I could be wrong, so don’t lose hope.

I highly highly doubt it. I believe the next wave will have waitlist/rejection but will also have acceptance. you MUST have faith. Don’t play yourself. Bless up. Major Key. @iwashere26 *-

Don’t let THEY stop you.

I got accepted with a 3.5 and a 28 for mech engineering, they must have really liked my essay!

hope for the best but expect the worst

Is anyone else who is getting the March 30th message an applicant for financial aid? Because I am and I’m getting the message and all of my friends who were accepted on Friday were not. Could this be relevant?

@Slayeraven applying financial aid has no impact on decisions.

Hopefully they’ll post more decisions and hopefully some of those decisions are acceptances cause UCSD is my first choice @-)

I had a dream last night that I decided to contact UCSD via snapchat and the admissions officer got mad at me saying that everyone is annoying him so he told me that I wasn’t accepted. I woke up with tears in my eyes. Let’s just say this waiting thing is getting to me.

@freakingout98 @meltingsoull Some of those decisions will be acceptances for sure!!! Literally, think about it. It wouldn’t make sense if there weren’t. Don’t you worry!! Everything will play out the way it’s meant to be. Just keep your fingers crossed

Agree with post 3098. Many schools are doing notifications in order from honors, accept, waitlist, mostly rejection, rejection. Calpoly it was done over a 2-3 week period . People posting were hopeful at the end but all looked to be wastlisted or rejected during the last 2 waves of notfication. It was awful. Im assuming a no from ucsd for me since i have gotten no calls or emails. I did get accepted into Davis and super excited about that. Good luck to all on march 15 for ucsc, mar 22 for ucsb , march 18 ish for ucla and narch 24ish for Cal. I admire Any school for getting all notices out for freshman applicants in one day. Love that ucsc even gives the expected time based on first letter of last name.
