@gonewiththeair numbers are useless and they don’t give them to us. All of us should call them tomorrow morning.
@gonewiththeair The decisions have already been made.
@JohnM2020 I understand, but again, we definitely need to make sure that we are polite when dealing with the people in the admissions office. They will be more inclined to help us out if we are nice.
And yes, the decisions have been made, but they may prolong releasing them if they are angry.
UCSD did not do this in past years. I wonder why they are doing it this year…
@vi0linmonster I know they received a lot more applicants this year so maybe it’s possible that their system can’t handle releasing all acceptances at once? Even still, I don’t understand why they couldn’t have spread decisions out on Friday.
@vi0linmonster what are your GPA and SAT scores?
I agree with some of the people who said that it probably won’t do good to bombard them with calls. The decisions will come when they come. However, at the same time I feel like they shouldn’t have waited a whole weekend and just made us suffer. Trust me, I know how you all feel because I’m personally one of those march 30 people but i think it’s best we just wait.
Same @gonewiththeair I mean, it was an 8.9% difference with 102,692 applicants instead of 2015’s 94,280 applicants (found via Los Angeles Times article “206,000 seek UC admission.”
I bet some dumbass realized that he or she forgot to click the button for “release admissions decisions to all applicants” and only clicked the “release admissions decisions to top 30% of the admitted applicants.”
that or
I am pretty sure the top 30% has been already decided. There are no rejects/waitlists at all, some jerks say there are but there really isn’t. I (and several other people) would like to see proof of their portal if so please. UCSD just surpassed Cal in freshman admissions decisions, so it makes sense as to why they are taking longer than usual. Everyone I know who got accepted got calls from UCSD.
We will find out one way or another, but you guys need to understand that you signed up to apply to a UC, most of their campuses of which are extremely high in demand. Plus I am pretty damn sure you got accepted to one other college if you are on here, unless if you did not do safety schools.
lol @elefish92 Let me ask my friend, who got rejected, if she can take a photo of her rejection letter from her top school. I mean, I’ll try…
@jackisawesome did your friend get rejected from ucsd?
Yah I have two friends that got rejected. One is in-state and the other is international.
@elefish92 “Everyone I know who got accepted got calls from UCSD.”. I got accepted and received no call. One of my classmates got accepted and received no call. And I was with my other classmate as he checked his portal and it said he was waitlisted. Obviously he wanted to go to UCSD, because he applied, and was disappointed. Why tf would he allow anyone to take a picture?
Honestly you sound very condescending when you post here, and I’m sure many others, along with myself, don’t appreciate it. No need to call others “jerks”.
@jackisawesome All of us would appreciate if we can see the rejection letter, but I know it is a very sensitive thing to ask of a person to do.
Yeah I know of three friends who got accepted, but didn’t receive a call beforehand.
Has anyone been accepted into Muir yet? Or the Global Health major? I have talked to a lot of people who have been accepted but not a single one of them have gotten into Muir or for the Global Health major. Maybe they’re sending them out by college/major?
@gracield I believe a couple of people here have confirmed acceptances to Muir. It doesn’t look like they are releasing decisions by college or major.
@JohnM2020 I have a UC uncapped weighted about 4.4, UC capped 4.1, and 3.8 uncapped. 33 ACT
@elefish92 I got accepted but I didn’t get a call. I also don’t think I’m top 30% of admits either.
@may12020 Thanks for your feedback. I’m actually not sure if I cant make UCSD since I got flat out rejected from Davis
@and1kingbro Davis admissions were very weird this year! Many students who were very high stats were waitlisted or rejected while lower stat students were accepted. Also, Davis decisions have no bearing on UCSD decisions so there is still hope xx
