Do UCs look at UC gpa when evaluating your app or just to see if you qualify to apply?

@deepblueocean No I didn’t get a supplement, which I’m guessing is a bad sign 
@dannysunz I don’t know will be my answer. It means the college wants explanation about certain stuffs that seemed odd in you application. It means it gives you some chance. However, it is also widely known as something that only people on borderline receive it.
@MiniCHAMP Oh, maybe your SAT was too good to even notice about your gpa? Not always your grade is the most important factor. Did you have good ecs and good essays? I feel like you did, which means, it was unnecessary to give you the supplement.
@katherinee What do you mean “if you qualify to apply?” Can you clearify this phrase? 
Do you think we can rsvp for Triton day even if we haven’t gotten in yet? would it not allow us to if we didnt get in?
@deepblueocean I think you have to have a 3.0 to be considered for admission, same as those basic a-g requirements
The UC GPA, I understand, is just the basis they use to verify that you qualify. I’ve heard that Berkeley and UCLA use your unweighted and uncapped weighted when they evaluate you (that is after you have qualified with you UC GPA). The other UC’s, unfortunately, just take the lazy way (in my opinion) and use your UC GPA when evaluating your app.
@deepblueocean I am crossing my fingers that you’re right… My essays were pretty well written and my extracurriculars were good too, but nothing amazing.
@MiniCHAMP Yeah, trust yourself. That’s all you can do. In my opinion, if you had good essays and good ecs, that should make you special because they basically explain who you are.

@WonwillP We have reason to believe (pray and hope) that the next batch of results could come out today.
I still don’t understand why some people received results but some didn’t. Does UCSD follow the rolling admissions process? Or can we assume that people who got the march 30’d are waitlisted…
