UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

@WonwillP The number of people in this thread alone who have been march 30ed is too high. It’s impossible for everyone to get waitlisted.

Is income a factor?

@JohnM2020 No it is not (at least it shouldn’t be)

@Way2uni because all of people I know with lower GPA and Sat got accepted but their family high incomes.

My theory on the March 30’d thing is that UCSD had to give out some sort of response on March 11th because Davis was doing theirs on that date. UCSD, however, was probably not as ready as Davis so they could only do part of their decisions and will be doing the other part later.

I am a bit confused…what does getting March 30’d mean?

I received the notification that I got accepted into Muir college for Aerospace engineering as a major (I only found out today because the decision email alert actually went to my spam -_-).

Are there any others who got into UCSD for engineering?

@rkn0706 My friend did on 11th.

@JohnM2020 Individual income is not a factor; however, socioeconomic conditions of area are considered factors which can help those that are disadvantaged.

It’s honestly super weird. I know a person with 2400 and 4.6 (4.8 uncapped) who got in, as well as a person with 3.7 UC and 1860 who got in.

@jackisawesome what about very low income? My friends who got accepted have lower GPA and SAT than me but higher income.

@rkn0706 Congratulations on the acceptance! March 30ed refers to the message, given to people who did not get their acceptances, that states decisions will be posted on March 30th.

Actually, unless different between UCLA and UCSD, there are many top applicants that receive it. I believe 10% of all those that received UCLA supplemental in 2008 had a 4.0 UW.

@jackisawesome that is very weird…I guess those numbers prove that stats aren’t everything anymore

@cassielk

Muir
Marshall
Warren
Roosevelt
Sixth
Revelle

I love the idea of Revelle and Roosevelt; but when it comes down to it, I want a college that will allow me to easily graduate in 4years.

Also got March 30d

@10s4life I would like to agree, but then my one friend with low stats who got accepted seems to be an anomaly in this idea  hoping you are right though

@vimyle Thank you! What on earth are they thinking?? So whoever got a decision on the 11th was accepted?? Then there is still hope for the others!!

Hmm…very possible. I will ask her today about how her application went and that “I am so happy for her.”

Muir
Roosevelt
Warren
Revelle
Marshall
Sixth

Now I’m wishing I’d switched around Warren and Roosevelt but I’d still go to UCSD no matter which college I got into

1:15 until a decision? Please ucsd?

I got into UCSD on Saturday 3/12/16!! So happy…
