I was just reading another thread about how “boring” the social scene is at UCSD. Do you guys know anything about that? Ofc academics are important to me but it felt like so many people had so many negative things to say about how boring that area of San Diego is

@itsdrd I can’t speak for the social life at UCSD itself (I’ve also heard the same things about it being boring tbh), but I can guarantee you that the area is excellent! La Jolla is gorgeous and there are beaches, good restaurants, and shopping all right by the school. It’s also not too far from Pacific Beach, Torrey Pines, Solana Beach, Del Mar, and Encinitas, all of which are really cool areas. It’s also not that far from downtown San Diego which has loads of stuff to do.
In those areas there’s good hiking, good food, good shopping, concerts, great beaches, Balboa Park, theatre, etc. There are buses from UCSD that make these places quite convenient to access, though depending on the time of day/day of the week traffic can be pretty bad.
So are we hoping that a second wave is coming tomorrow? :o
@gonewiththeair yeah thanks that makes me feel a lot better. I don’t really care about going out all the time but it would be nice to do that occasionally/ have things to do on the weekends

Can somebody ask their friends who already attend UCSD when decisions usually come out? I talked to my upperclassmen friend who told me that the next wave would be likely on the 30th on I quote, “colleges are just like that”. But that last year, everybody got it in one day (?) I’m guessing that this year is wackier because of the record number of applicants. I’m hoping the wait-time’s not true, but can anybody else give some insight on this matter?
I do not think it is because of the record number of applicants. Isn’t UCLA releasing everybody’s decisions tomorrow?

@itsdrd The students I know there are all very happy with their social life. Not much hard core partying is all.
about what time does UCSD decisions come out and also UCLA?
UCLA is supposed to send out all decisions tomorrow, on the other hand, UCSD is speculated to have the next wave hit tomorrow as well.
