Can anyone explain why the UCI portal is slow? Does that have any meaning??

@WhyYouDoThisUCSD I love your username haha. Definitely not any meaning other than too many people checking all at once. I got in around 7 and the portal surprisingly did not lag at all. I got in to the portal quickly. Honestly, I think they are probably done today, maybe check tmrw?
@ucpleaseaccept I think UCLA is anywhere from 12-5, which is a norm for UCs. Usually from around 3-5. I’m still iffy if UCSD will be replying to us tomorrow. I really, really, really hope so. X_X

at this point i don’t even care if i get rejected i just want to find out my decision.
Any chances that decisions will be released tom?
@thejappster Technically there’s a chance every single day, it’s just that UCSD is being really vague right now which is really worrying me. Speculations say it could be tomorrow, or the next friday, or UCSD will just say “fk it” and release it all on the 30th. I just wanna know already though so I hope the latter isn’t the case here.

Got into UCI, now my feelings about UCSD aren’t as pessimistic. Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst, as I’ve said before. n__n; Would be great if they gave us another wave tomorrow.

I hope UCSD has mercy on our poor souls and just releases the rest tomorrow. Please no more of this “UCSD 30’d” treatment. :((
@Velouria thank you very much! I agree. UCSD has always been my top school but Irvine isn’t too shabby either, and it gives me a sliver of hope that my UC app wasn’t complete crap! If we don’t get news tomorrow I think I’ll give up and wait for the 30th…

From my personal experience, since I have had exactly 4 acceptances and exactly 4 rejections so far, I can say that the colleges that send you a mail saying that the portal has been updated means you have gotten rejected. All my four acceptances sent a congratulatory mail directly to me and I didn’t have to check the portal. I don’t want to scare anybody but can anybody relate to this? Do all colleges do this?
BTW - I really want UCSD!!!

hi guys!! I just checked both my ucsd and uci status and both of them neither showed anything…ucsd still shows the 30th and irvine’s main home just shows its main webpage.
Does this mean that the admission’s are still reviewing or am I being rejected? I hope not hahaha
