UCSD Class of 2021 Discussion/Decisions

Hi guys, can someone please help me out??? So, long story short, Im an Econ Major that just got admitted to UCSD, but unfortunately I had to drop CALC B this semester, which is a major prep requirement. On the phone, they told me that they would have to revoke my admission unless I can finish calc b by the end of spring 2017. She said my only option is to take it over the summer and then do an appeal, by it is unlikely ill get in, and if I do this, and submit my intent to register, Ill be left with nothing if they revoke the application. So, is there anything that comes to mind in terms of what I’ll be able to do? Would I be able to find a self-paced calculus B course that would transfer to UCSD that I could take in the next 3-4 weeks? Is there ANYTHING AT ALL I can do? Anything would help, please and thank you!

@mattkarzi Might taking the AP Calc AB test and doing well on it suffice for the requirement?

@Santeeeee @studyxinfinity do you guys want to be in the kik chat? What is your guy’s kik username

@mattkarzi You could search in the University of California approved A-G course list under online options. I think Apex Virtual Learning, for example, is one school listed there that offers math courses online. You have to pay for the courses. Don’t know about timing or whether they have your exact course.

What’s up everyone! Incoming applied mathematics major at Warren here. Was wondering when is the best time to start enrolling in classes, and if there’s any way incoming freshman can start talking to an advisor. I would like to double major in applied math and physics but I’d like to see if that’s even possible given warren’s GE requirements. Thanks guys!!

@brokeblester although current undergrads at sd are in the midst of planning their next year’s schedule, we will not receive that chance until late summer (possibly early september). warren’s GEs are very convenient for engineers, which arguably is very similar to the classes required for both math and physics. you should check out the required courses for each major on their respective departments’ websites (just google “math major ucsd”) and see how well they overlap with warren GEs. I believe we can start talking to advisors at orientation.

Hello everyone, I am waitlisted by UCSD as a CS major and I’m desperate to get in, as it is my dream school. I’m wondering if anyone has actually got off the waitlist yet… please let me know if you did… Thanks in advance friends >_<

Are you from in-state? UCSD has accepted some OOS and international students, but I don’t think they have accepted anyone from in-state yet.

Yo whats up guys

@MisterStudentt I know a friend who got off the waitlist and accepted but he chose Irvine over SD

@Mfane46 was he in state?

I got off the waitlist 10 days ago and my friend was off yesterday. I believe there is still chance for you. GOOD LUCK!!

@musicandsmiles I’d love to join the group chat! My username on Kik is myunicornpack.

Anyone get into ERC?

@magiebaste Yea he s in state

WHO’S EXCITEEEEDDDD

Anyone admitted to a capped major who didn’t take any SAT II’s?

@TTdd16 not a capped major, but I got in as an undeclared physical science major without any SAT II’s

Which majors are capped?

Was just wondering… can an upperclassman buy a parking permit for a freshman?
