@poliscihopeful7 your ACT is at the 75th percentile, while your UC GPA is at around the 25th. I’d say your chances are pretty good (maybe 60% chance of acceptance?). Obviously, it also depends on other things like ECs and essays, as well as major and whether you’re in-state or OOS. Good luck!!! 4 days hopefully

@wormholes Well, I’m out of state, but I think my application was okay. I volunteered on a political campaign and created a free, peer-led ACT tutoring program at my club.
I wrote that the biggest thing that sets me apart from other UC applicants was the insight I showed in quitting competitive rowing (crew) in order to pursue my political and tutorial aspirations. I think that may have been a risky essay, as it’s about quitting, but I hope it pays off.
I just want to know if i got in already… Like, the admissions people must have decided by now. What good will it do to make us wait? lol
@poliscihopeful7 oh I was actually talking about the acceptance for all majors. Also did people from all majors years before get called during calling campaign? Is it weird that only engineering students are getting called this time?

I called undergraduate admission office. They said that the notifications will be released either through mid-March or late March (very specific!!) 8-|
I asked about calling campaign. They said it has started today and will continue through middle of next week.
@TheWave01 I think all majors do get called because the engineering calling campaign is different than the alumni calling campaign. The alumni calling campaign goes to all majors, based off of last year, to newly admitted students (especially competitive ones that may qualify for scholarships or URM). I think they would want a specific calling campaign to the engineering students since engineering students tend to be very competitive and UCSD would likely want them to commit to their school instead of others. I don’t know if they had something similar to this last year, though.

@yuccatree so are you saying that non-engineering majors will only get called after they’re accepted through the portal?
@wormholes I’m honestly not sure, all I know about are the alumni calling campaign (which is for all majors starting on 3/13) and the engineering student calling campaign (starting today). The faculty calling campaign also starts on 3/13. If decisions come out this Friday, then it is unlikely for any non-engineering students to get phone calls before hearing of their acceptance through their portal. If they come out 3/17, then some non-engineering students will hear of their acceptance before the portal.
The reason I say that I’m not sure is mostly because I don’t know if UCSD has any other calling campaigns going on right now. If they have other calling campaigns then some other students may also be getting phone calls?
@yuccatree So I’m gonna guess that the calling campaign this week is only for engineering students. Then, acceptances will come out Friday. Then, starting next Monday, all admitted students, not just engineering ones, will start getting calls. This is just my prediction though!

This Friday is UC Davis and UCSD results? And then the calls start for UCSD?
@magopieces That’s the speculation. I think calls might start this week (today?) for admitted engineering students…then other admitted students will be called next week, after they find out through the portal. It’s all just a guess though!
Friend of mine got admitted to UCSD; he has fewer APs and a lower GPA but more volunteering and he’s transgender, so that’s probably why he already got his decision already. Just thought you guys would want to be updated!
