@chipotleeveryday no, only early acceptances / top applicants that will be getting awards or honors program invites
@pressieb top applicants got into UCSD today?
@wormholes no no sorry I mean only top applicants got the invite to the reception, not everyone got a decision today
@pressieb reception for UCSD? no one on here has said anything about that…
@pressieb thanks!
@wormholes oh my gosh! I’m so sorry I was thinking this was UCSB… blame the dyslexia. Well, anyways decisions did not come out yet which was the original question!
@pressieb OHH! haha no worries i was just getting extremely confused lol
I think it will be around March 1 when phone calls go out to notify some students early that they got accepted to UCSD.
@Gumbymom What do you think of the housing trick? (On the first page of this thread)
Is it a good sign?
So me and a few people from school have a ucsd email address in the housing section but I also know a lot of people that don’t have a ucsd email address there (it’s just blank). Idk what this means but hopefully we got in LOL
Same…a couple friends of mine and myself all have this email address in the housing section but some do not. I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS AGHHH
Can we post stats and try to see if they have any correlation to whether the housing trick worked? I’ll start: 1500 SAT, 3.7 UC GPA, extenuating circumstances, mediocre ECs, in state, submitted application 12/1 (a blank email may mean that they haven’t reviewed your app yet)
What is this mailid… thr is a small light blue colour box in housing tab which has 2 mail ids… r u ppl talking of that
I tried the housing trick. I got an automatically generated email that had the first two letters of my first name and the first letter of my last name with 3 numbers after it for the ucsd.edu email. The “Year” section was also automatically filled in as freshman. Perhaps it’s because I’m logged into my account, and it knows I’m a freshman applicant? Honestly though my stats aren’t that up to par to get admitted into UCSD.
3.7 UC GPA
1930 old SAT (640 R, 640 M, 650 W)
1330 new SAT (650 R, 680 M)
piano for 10 years
not much community service
member of CSF (California Scholarship Foundation)
single-income home, parents divorced, could qualify for Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan
varsity swim since freshman year
submitted application 11/29
I have the first two letters of my first name and the first six letters of my last name. No randomly generated numbers and the domain is ucsd.edu.
Stats are 40 IB predicted (Math, Physics, Chem HL), 1580 SAT, 780 Math 2, and 740 Physics. Pretty good ECs that range from engineering-related (my future major) to school and community involvement. Unfortunately, I don’t really have a GPA.
forgot to mention i applied for human biology as the preferred major and undeclared as the alternate lol
I have an email address:
First initial, middle initial, full last name @UCSD.edu
“Freshman” is also pre-selected.
I have an email address too
First initial, full last name @ucsd.edu
Freshman is pre-selected.
Applied for computer engineering, intl., 1490 SAT, no GPA in my educational system, but pretty good grades (nothing spectacular though), ECs are not all that great. I do think my personal essays were really good though.
@InfiniteLibrary: My understanding is the housing trick no longer works. I guess time will tell.
@Gumbymom is there a specific reason why you think that?
