@heeraraj On the class of 2020 page it was shown to not have been accurate in saying who did and who didn’t get into the school.
@heeraraj I agree with @Gumbymom . I know several people with stats on par with UCSD’s accepted averages who don’t have the email, and I know several people with subpar stats who do have the email. Therefore, I don’t think it means anything.
@Gumbymom It’s not the same housing trick as 2014, that one was fixed. It’s similar but instead of showing a message saying to come back later or something it has an auto-filled email
Also, the reason some people who have good stats don’t have an email could be that their applications haven’t been reviewed yet. We still have a month before decisions come out. @bigdreams23 where does it say that? I see people on the thread saying that it’s not a reliable indicator but I didn’t see any evidence for that
I was under the impression that the housing trick didn’t work anymore, but like I said before I’m pretty confident that I didn’t get in.

What are my chances
Son has email address on off-campus housing page, and was invited to tour at UCSD a few days ago. Already admitted to EECS at UCB and invited to interview for Regents, so fairly confident about UCSD.
@thenotgreat @yuccatree + others… Yikes, I don’t have an autofilled email in the “housing trip” and that scares me because all of you guys do… UCSD is my top choice rip.
@Cocohorse I really don’t think it means anything…my friend with pretty similar stats to mine doesn’t have the email and I do. I would not worry about it if I were you; it seems to be random at this point
@Cocohorse I completely second what @wormholes says. It seems really random, and not having one does not mean you will be rejected nor does having one mean acceptance. We will just have to wait until March to find out if we are accepted or not, so there’s no need to worry about one e-mail address.
So the email doesn’t really mean anything?
@coffee1999 It doesn’t look like it does. Here is a post from last year’s thread (also relevant to @Cocohorse in case you are still worried about the e-mail, I couldn’t find this post earlier but might ease your stress):

Right above this post was another person who said that they had the email and was also accepted. So if both people who see the email and don’t see the email were accepted, as well as rejected, it doesn’t seem to indicate the final status. It really seems random and unrelated to application status.

When are we expecting UCSD to release its decisions?
I am wondering the same thing… any idea when UCSD will release their decisions?
@austingal i think they release decisions on the 31st?
I think they usually release the same week as UCSB. UCSB is releasing on 3/21. I’m not sure how they came up with the date but for some reason the UCLA peeps feel that UCLA will release results before UCSB.
From what I’ve gathered, it seems that UCSD and UC Davis usually begin to release decisions on the same day, which is usually the second Friday in March. I’m not 100% sure on this, but nevertheless, I’ll be checking my portal quite often on March 10th.
@voltthorn @austingal @ED1998 @lkg4answers @poliscihopeful7
From what I know, I think it’s the day before UCLA’s (which is Friday the 17th). So UCSD should come out Thursday the 16th & possibly a few days before (basically around that time)
@potato16 How did you find out that UCLA is coming on the 17th?
@wormholes I noticed from any previous year that decisions for ucla come out on the third Friday of March. I found a source saying the 18th, but then I realized that was for last year (which also happens to be the 3rd Friday of the month). I also heard it from somewhere else. I’m pretty sure that’s the date, hopefully I’m not wrong lol
