I received the same envelope with the brochure and “thank you for applying” as @KevinHuu. I am from Northern California. UW GPA 3.92, ACT 34. I checked with several of my friends who applied and no one else received it. Nice to know I’m not the only one. I view it as a positive interest sign, but nothing more than that. Waiting along with everyone else for UCSD and a few others.

Where did you guys get the VIP invitation and what does it mean if you didn’t get an invitation?
@emli8100 Apparently in previous years, getting the invite was a good sign, so I assume that still holds. However, not getting the invite isn’t anything to worry about. I live in the SD area, so I’m hoping that’s why I didn’t receive an invite. I mean, why would they offer tours to San Diegans…right? 
Everyone has the housing portal right? It’s not indicating anything right?
Also when will the accepted students get called?
My son got called today to congratulate him and invite him to Triton Day.

My son was surprised too. I didn’t even know about the calling campaign. We had just gone to the All Access tour on Saturday.

@wormholes thanks! He’s happy. I know they have a good reputation but I was not impressed with campus. We don’t know anyone else that applied.
