Whoever told you that you would not be accepted anywhere else is clearly lying. And to be honest, with an SAT of 1450 you are competitive enough for most UC’s. @Coconutty
@intladm: It means that you will have to try and switch to CS after taking several pre-req courses and starting last year it was by lottery. If you are interested in only CS, I would consider any schools where you got a direct admit. If you want UCSD, are you willing to consider another major besides CS?
UCSD admits into the University first and then into the major. You met the University requirements but not the major requirements.

I’m feeling rather disappointed about being rejected from UCSD. I’ve only gotten into UCSC and UW Seattle so far.

RE: Colleges…
For any future UCSD student, if you don’t like your choice of college… you’re pretty much stuck with it. There are some transfer qualifications (I know for Muir you have to prove that you will graduate faster in Muir than your original college, etc). It’s pretty much hopeless and the rarely accept inter-college transfers. I think you have a better chance if someone is willing to switch colleges with you (you two exchanging back and forth), but it’s highly unlikely. And you can only transfer after your third quarter, if I recall correctly.
