I got admitted to UCSD in clinical psychology and I was wondering my chances of changing to a capped major like human biology or neuro? Is it unlikely I would be able to since it’s such an impacted major?
@txvn12 as far as I know, the biology division isn’t as hard to transfer into as engineering and most people trying to get in are successful
Hi, I was just wondering about transferring to a different college at UCSD. I read online that you have to show them you can graduate 2 quarters earlier at your new college, but I don’t understand what this means? Does it mean they want you to graduate earlier than 4 years, and also why would they want you to be able to graduate earlier to transfer?
@writerscookie yes, or show that your current college’s GEs + your major would take >4 years to finish while your new college’s wouldn’t. The idea is that if it can tangibly save you and the school time and money, they’d let you switch. Close to nobody ever switches, since you anyway have to take your original college’s writing sequence.
when and how are we supposed to receive an admitted students package, and also what all is it supposed to contain?
@DoctorP I see, thanks for the info! So if I am able to switch, would I have to take all of the GE’s at the new college along with my old college’s writing sequence?
Anyone know which dorms have air conditioning?
@ littlechild You’re steps from the beach – the breeze from the Pacific is your A/C.
Anyone know what’s the best easy summer courses to get an A in (fine arts/language for GE)
My daughter was also accepted to Muir for Human Biology! Did she commit? We went to Triton Day last week and had a good time. We learned about the houses … at least for Muir. The two Freshman dorms are 10 stories and every two stories are connected by a spiral staircase to the common living room area. The houses are like a subset of the dorm and they plan activities. They even select a theme for their houses. The one we toured had a Game of Throbes theme. They have a House Assistant that “manages” the floors. I’ve known them to be called Residence Assistants typically.
