@mango1980 they are trying to fix their yield, so they accepted less people to be certain that they would not overaccept again. Waitlist if you want, or just move on and choose from your acceptances
@mango1980: Only 2017 waitlist data available. 2018 and 2016 are missing in action.

Accepted! My S oos into CS. 36 ACT, 4.2 W, NMSF, NHS, SAT Math 800/Chem 800, 9 AP classes, 3 Symphonies (violin), XC and track, also accepted to UCLA, UVA, UDUB, UNC Chapel Hill. Don’t know if we will take it or not, as the UNC package was pretty great. Waiting today on several other schools.
Anybody receive anything by US Mail? Or is everything electronic via portal and email?
My son got his acceptance through the portal and a bunch of emails, but nothing in the mail.
@ngopalan I got something in the mail last night but I live in AZ. There is a very nice thick envelope that comes with official stuff!
Acceptance “crown” received in the mail today in NJ. Regular USPS.
Accepted UCSD structural engineering. Question about grants. I was also accepted to UCLA and offered 10k/ year. Has UCSD already offered their aid or is it possible that that is still coming? Crossing my fingers that I get something similar at UCSD. This is my first choice. Any info would be much appreciated!!
Hi @Gumbymom I’m hoping you can help answer a question I have about transferring JC credits to UC. My son was accepted to school of engineering at UCSD (Aerospace). Since his school doesn’t have an AP program (only Honors), he took several classes at the local JC that are all on the IGETC list. Where/How can we find out of these classes transfer over to UCSD? He was hoping to get a head start on GEs by taking them at the JC. I posed the same question on the UCLA 2023 forum since he was accepted there, too. I would hate for those classes to have been for nothing if he can’t transfer them for GE credit in the engineering program. Thanks for your time!
@jrncyn: If they are on the a-g course lists, then they will be UC transferable. You can check here for the a-g course list if available for the JC:
https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist
If they are not on the a-g course list, look at assist.org for the specific JC and transferable courses.
Thank you, @Gumbymom! All of the classes he took are from the A-G course lists. I’m wondering if these classes will fulfill some of the GE requirements for the college he was accepted (Warren) and/or his GE requirements for his aerospace engineering major.
@jrncyn: You can cross check them against assist.org and Warrens GE course requirements. I am sure they will fulfill some of the requirements.
@Gumbymom Will do! Thank you so much!
@jrncyn: Also at Freshman orientation, the academic advisor can go over the classes taken to see which GE requirements will be fulfilled and which still need to be met.
@Gumbymom Great! Now he just needs to decide which school best fits him. Have a wonderful weekend! I’m sure I’ll have more questions for you
Have a question about AP credits at UCSD. So I found this link https://www.ucsd.edu/catalog/pdf/APC-chart.pdf and it has the “UC SAN DIEGO COURSE EXEMPTIONS (FOR USE ON MAJOR)” column and the specific colleges column. So I’m confused if the AP score will count for both columns if applicable or only one? Thanks
I live about 40 minutes north of San Diego and I still haven’t gotten my acceptance package. Has anyone near me that was also admitted received their package yet?
@lion24596 The first column is what the APs exempt from your major. The college specific ones are what cover your GEs. Doesn’t matter if only one of the columns is filled. You’ll be able to understand more once you get access to the degree audit
@jetstar I just got the package yesterday (I’m far away) so you should be getting one soon. Fairly flat cardboard envelope, mostly empty except a letter, a certificate, and a few cardboard cutouts.
Hey! New here. I got accepted into UCSD as an undeclared major when I applied as a mechanical engineering major. What exactly does that mean? I am confused since I do not know if its an error or not, or why they would accept someone to a major they did not apply to in the first place. Any help would be nice. Thanks!
@rutherfordio: It means you did not meet the threshold to get accepted directly into the ME major but you are admitted into the University. You will now have to try and change majors if you want to pursue ME which is not a guarantee.
Information on the steps to change majors is outlined below:
