Hey everybody! I am currently a second-year CCC student and noticed that there wasn’t a thread for UCSD transfer students yet for Fall 2024, so I thought I’d start one! Feel free to share your stats too 
Here are my stats:
College: Currently at a CCC (went for two years), went to SJSU for one year (decided to go to CC bc of chronic health issues)
Major: Economics
GPA: 3.5 (will become 3.6-ish after winter quarter)
**Prerequisites Taken: ** Finished IGETC coursework
Extracurriculars: Officer in several clubs in CC (Women in Business, Women in CS), was a part of several clubs when I was at SJSU (Marketing Association, Her Campus, WIB, Mock Trial), did some consulting work with small businesses, tutored a few kids
Income Bracket: Upper-middle class
Other schools applied to: UC Davis (TAG), all other UCs except Merced, SJSU (accepted), SDSU (accepted), Cal Poly SLO, USC (I really want to stay in CA lmao)
I’m so nervous since UCSD is my dream school 
Maybe I missed it, but what’s your major? Why is UCSD your dream college?
Have you visited the campus? Have you visited any campuses? They’re all vastly different.
I am an economics major! UCSD is my dream college since it has a strong economics program (among the top 20 in the country! I have visited UCSD, UCLA, UC Davis, UCSB, and Cal, but I liked UCSD for many reasons (good neighborhood, good academics, competitive enough, in-state tuition).
hey everyone,
recently noticed a bug or maybe a sign on the UCSD application portal. If you go to application information, some people have had their alternate major disappear for some reason. Was curious if this was the case for anyone else.
That seems weird, I can still see it on my end
Here are my daughter’s stats:
College: Currently at a San Diego area CC
Major: Neurobiology
GPA: 4.0
**Prerequisites Taken: ** Finished IGETC coursework and will complete major courses Spring 2024
Extracurriculars: Part time work (22 hrs/week), part time care for grandparents with dementia
Other schools applied to: UC Davis (TAG), UCI (accepted), UCSC (accepted), UCLA, UCB
We live in San Diego and her sister works at UCSD and we are very familiar with the campus. She really wants to go away for school but not 100% sure.
Got waitlisted for econ + accepted my position on the waitlist and picked international studies/economics as a backup major. Also good job everyone! There were so many applicants this year and you all did well (regardless of if you got in/not)
